Artists are excited about the 30th anniversary of the "Golden Rice Award".

On the afternoon of December 29th, the Organizing Committee of the "Golden Rice Award" competition held a press conference. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the competition and the 10th anniversary of Southern Vietnamese folk music (ĐCTT) being recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, this is an opportunity to bring together established artists from the "Golden Rice Ear" competition and to honor individuals and groups with outstanding achievements and significant contributions to the competition.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Tuan, Deputy Director of the People's Voice Radio Station of Ho Chi Minh City, said: "The 'Golden Rice Award' competition, first organized in 1993, has now gone through a long journey in preserving and promoting the invaluable spiritual values ​​of humanity over the past 30 years."

With a proud 30-year journey, the competition has been recognized as the first radio program to achieve the longest-running record in the national broadcasting system. With over 1,500 weekly broadcasts, it has shaped the radio listening habits and appreciation of traditional Vietnamese opera among farmers.

The competition brought together a judging panel of renowned playwrights and famous Cai Luong artists: playwright Ngo Hong Khanh, playwright Minh Thuy, People's Artist Phuong Loan, Meritorious Artist Phuong Hang, Master - Meritorious Artist Huynh Khai, People's Artist Bach Tuyet, People's Artist Minh Vuong, People's Artist Thanh Tuan, Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long, and artist Thanh Hang.

This place also serves as a launching pad for thousands of contestants to "showcase their Cai Luong talents," with many names familiar to Cai Luong enthusiasts such as Meritorious Artist Tuyet Ngan, Meritorious Artist Dao Vu Thanh, Meritorious Artist Thu Van, etc.

For artists who have been involved with the "Golden Rice Award" competition, this is an exciting period because 2023 is a very special year for the award. Editors and technical staff who have been involved with the competition over the years have expressed their joy at the growth of the "Golden Rice Award" - a brand that has been closely associated with radio broadcasting, highly regarded by professionals, and loved by a large audience.

Therefore, the Organizing Committee has organized a series of events to mark this impressive journey, such as the weekly broadcast of the "30 Years of the Golden Rice Award" segment, where participants meet, interact, and reminisce about the individuals who have been involved with the competition over the past 30 years.

In addition, a writing competition commemorating "30 Years of the Golden Rice Award" was organized and received enthusiastic participation from nearly 100 authors across the country. An exhibition of photographs titled "30 Years of the Golden Rice Award" was also inaugurated, featuring numerous images, documents, stage costumes, and musical instruments associated with the "Golden Rice Award" movement. A commemorative yearbook celebrating the 30th anniversary of the competition will also be released in the near future.

With each competition season, the contestants of the "Golden Rice Award" have received extensive publicity.

The yearbook will feature images of the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, contestants, artists, bands, etc., throughout the competition, focusing on award winners, outstanding images, and memorable events over the past 30 years. The yearbook will be released online on the website: voh.com.vn and the Fanpage: Bông Lúa Vàng after the 2023 Final Ranking of the competition.

In particular, the final round of the competition will be held on January 6, 2024, featuring a spectacular contest between 6 outstanding contestants: Duong Thi My Nhung, Nguyen Hoang Nam, Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Huynh Thi Ly, Nguyen Quynh Nhu, and Huynh Thi Be Nhien.

Continuing their roles as judges for the competition are renowned and respected artists from the city's theater scene: People's Artist Bach Tuyet, People's Artist Minh Vuong, People's Artist Thanh Tuan, Meritorious Artist Huynh Khai, and artist Thanh Hang.

The achievements of each season have created opportunities for many young contestants to reach the professional stage.

The 30th anniversary celebration of the "Golden Rice Award" will be held on the evening of January 13, 2024, at 7 PM, at the VOH MUSIC ONE Theater - Voice of Ho Chi Minh City Radio Station, 3 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Dakao Ward, District 1. This will be a grand event bringing together all the familiar faces of the "Golden Rice Award" such as: People's Artist Bach Tuyet, People's Artist Trong Phuc, Meritorious Artist Phuong Hang, People's Artist My Hang, Meritorious Artist Thu Van, artist Hai Long… and other artists who have achieved fame from the "Golden Rice Award".

As part of the activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Golden Rice Award, there is also a writing competition commemorating "30 Years of the Golden Rice Award" - which was launched in October 2023 and will run until November 30, 2023. To date, the organizing committee has received nearly 100 entries in various genres such as prose, poetry, traditional Vietnamese folk songs, and reflections…
