Providing timely assistance and standing side-by-side with the people to overcome natural disasters.
For example, on April 17th, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Cong Anh, Commander of the La Ee Border Guard Station, stated that the unit had promptly deployed forces to assist households in repairing their homes after a tornado struck the area.
Earlier, at around 2 PM on April 16th, a sudden tornado swept through Dak Ngol village (La Ee commune, Da Nang city). Although there were no casualties, the strong winds damaged many houses, with the most severe damage occurring to the families of Mr. Zo Ram Niem and Mr. Coor Coi, whose roofs were completely blown off.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the La Êê Border Guard Post promptly deployed 10 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities at the scene, helping people repair roofs, clear fallen trees, salvage belongings, and arrange temporary accommodation. Thanks to this timely support, the households quickly stabilized their lives by the same afternoon, significantly minimizing damage.
In addition to providing timely assistance during natural disasters, officers and soldiers of the Tr'hy Border Guard Post also directly participated in the construction of the Tay Giang Primary and Secondary Boarding School (in the former A Tieng commune).
Ten officers and soldiers, undeterred by the heat, participated in various tasks such as erecting formwork, welding steel, mixing mortar, and carrying materials, contributing to the accelerated progress of the project. Their sense of responsibility, perseverance, and solidarity helped complete the school early, creating better learning conditions for students in the mountainous region.

These concrete and practical actions not only help people overcome immediate difficulties but also spread trust and strengthen the bond between the military and the people.
Mr. Alang Voi (born in 1982), residing in Ga'nil village, Hung Son commune, emotionally shared: his house was 70% damaged by last year's floods. When he received support to build a new house, he was so happy he couldn't sleep. "Now that we have a new house, we no longer worry about the rainy season, and our children have a proper place to study," he said.
The effectiveness of the mass mobilization work that the Da Nang City Border Guard Command has been implementing in recent times stems from concrete actions like these. After the restructuring of the local government at two levels, the City Border Guard Command has closely monitored the area, focused strongly on the grassroots, and comprehensively implemented all aspects of its work, especially caring for the lives of people in border areas.
The units organized 121 propaganda sessions with 12,663 people participating, contributing to raising legal awareness and compliance with regulations in border areas. At the same time, the forces proactively participated in disaster prevention and control, search and rescue with over 1,400 officers and soldiers; organized the evacuation of 1,783 households/4,955 people; and provided over 3.7 billion VND in support to the people.
Notably, the unit promptly relocated 327 households/1,206 people in the landslide area of Hung Son commune, provided approximately 360 million VND in support, and adopted two orphaned children of the couple who went missing in the landslide.
Spreading the "people's support" through practical actions.
Captain Nguyen Kinh Tri, Assistant for Civil Affairs, City Border Guard Command, said: “In mobilizing social resources, the unit has implemented the “Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of the People” program with a total budget of approximately 10.77 billion VND; carried out the “Quang Trung Campaign” to build and repair 19 houses, of which 15 have been completed, 7 days ahead of schedule.”
Models such as "Helping children go to school - Children adopted by border guard posts", "Borderland shelters", "Military-civilian medical cooperation", "Party members in charge of households"... continue to be effective.
Over the past 10 years (2015 - 2025), the programs have mobilized over 35 billion VND, supported more than 5,000 people, built and repaired more than 150 houses, awarded over 3,000 scholarships, and carried out many practical social activities, contributing to raising the intellectual level of the people, reducing poverty sustainably, and strengthening people's trust.

Colonel Hoang Van Man, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the City Border Guard Command, emphasized: The City Border Guard Command always proactively coordinates closely with local authorities in surveying and compiling statistics on households in need of support, ensuring transparency, openness, and targeting the right beneficiaries.
Simultaneously, a detailed plan was developed, with clear assignments of tasks to each officer and soldier. In addition, efforts were made to actively solicit support from philanthropists and benefactors for funding, labor, and construction materials, helping to alleviate the burden on the local people.
With a proactive, timely, and responsible spirit, new houses and public works are gradually being built, not only helping people stabilize their lives but also becoming a solid foundation, strengthening the "people's support," so that the people can confidently stand alongside the border guards in the task of firmly protecting the nation's borders.
