Acceptance of the project "Building a breeding model, intensively growing Giổi trees for seeds and building the "Giổi Seed" brand product in Lai Chau province", code: DTNNLC.04/22

On the afternoon of October 6, the Advisory Council evaluated and accepted the results of the provincial-level science and technology project "Building a breeding model, intensively cultivating Giổi trees for seeds and building the "Giổi Seed" brand product in Lai Chau province", code: DTNNLC.04/22 chaired by the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute, with MSc. Phan Van Mui as the head.

Attending the Council were representatives of the leaders of the Departments: Agriculture and Environment, Forestry University, Science and Technology, Provincial Forest Protection Department; Protective Forest Management Board, leaders of the People's Committees of Pa U and Le Loi communes... and representatives of the host unit and research members of the topic from the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute. At the acceptance meeting, the delegates listened to the project host unit summarize the objectives, content and results of the project. With the project objectives: Selecting a number of sources of Giổi seed varieties with good yield and seed quality, suitable for the soil conditions of Lai Chau province; Completing and transferring the process of propagating and planting Giổi seed trees in the direction of collecting seeds to 150 local people; Building 03 hectares of intensive cultivation model of Giổi seed; Building the brand "Giổi Muong Te Seeds" is necessary, in order to provide scientific and practical data, contributing to the development of Giổi seed trees, diversifying agricultural products and promoting socio -economic development in difficult areas of Lai Chau province.

After listening to the summary report, the council members commented: The project team has carried out the project's contents, investigated the current status of the Giổi tree in Lai Chau province and built the brand name of Muong Te Giổi seeds; researched and perfected breeding techniques and built a nursery garden, a garden providing grafted Giổi branches for seeds; intensive cultivation techniques for Giổi seeds; a handbook for people....

Concluding remarks by Master Nguyen Minh Hieu - Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Chairman of the Council: He highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the host unit as well as the project manager who completed the project products. However, he also requested the project members to closely follow the contents and objectives of the Provincial People's Committee's orders, and to supplement and clarify according to the opinions of the council members, to supplement the province's investment support, the potential strengths of Lai Chau province, and to propose solutions that need to be implemented.
