People's Diplomacy: A Sustainable, Long-lasting Bridge of Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and the delegation of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association in Hanoi took a souvenir photo with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

Speaking at the meeting, President Rumen Radev recalled the deep impressions of his official visit to Vietnam (November 2024), expressing his emotions when recalling the meeting with Vietnamese people who had studied and worked in Bulgaria organized by the Friendship Association in Hanoi.

President Rumen Radev affirmed that Vietnam is not only a traditional friend but also a very important partner of Bulgaria in the region. The President affirmed thateducational cooperation and cultural exchange are sustainable and long-term bridges for promoting and expanding cooperation in all other fields.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her delight at the President's interest in people-to-people diplomacy activities between the two countries.

Introducing many members of the delegation who were trained by Bulgaria and later became Vietnamese experts, scientists, and generals, actively contributing to the cause of defending the Fatherland and building the country, the Ambassador said that these are invaluable assets, positive factors contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association Le Thu Ha shared some outstanding activities of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi City in recent times. Every year, the Association celebrates important holidays of Bulgaria such as the Day of Culture, Education and Slavic Writing (May 24), Bulgarian National Day (March 3), Student Day (December 8)...

Many members enthusiastically participated in practicing traditional Bulgarian songs and dances and cooking Bulgarian dishes. Ms. Le Thu Ha affirmed that the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association will always strive to promote its role as a bridge, maintaining the close friendship between the two nations.

On this occasion, Ms. Le Thu Ha suggested that Bulgaria increase student exchanges with Vietnam, and consider opening its doors further to Vietnamese people who want to visit the "land of roses", especially those who have studied and worked in Bulgaria and want to revisit their second homeland.
