On the evening of August 19, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Loc (residing in Cu Chanh 1 residential group, Thuy Xuan ward, Hue city) discovered a white pheasant flying into his tea shop in the Thuy Tien lake park area.
Immediately afterwards, Mr. Loc tried to catch this white pheasant and proactively reported it to the People's Committee of Thuy Xuan Ward. Upon inspection, the white pheasant weighed about 1kg and was in good health. By the evening of the same day, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms of Bach Ma National Park received the white pheasant for care and conservation.

White pheasant ( scientific name Lophura nycthemera) - a rare forest bird of the Truong Son range belonging to group IIB (a group of forest animals with limited exploitation and use for commercial purposes).
Mr. Dang Huu Hai, Chairman of Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee, said that the people's discovery and proactive handover of the white pheasant demonstrated their sense of responsibility in protecting wild animals, contributing to preserving biodiversity in Hue City.
It is known that recently, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms in Bach Ma National Park has successfully bred and preserved white pheasants and many rare species such as yellow-cheeked peacocks and central yellow-fronted box turtles.
