On November 16th, the Tra Vinh Provincial Police announced that the hotline number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh, the provincial police chief, had received 300 calls in the past two months and had successfully solved many cases.

A typical example is the case of Mr. H., a seafood trader in Duyen Hai district (Tra Vinh province). Mr. H. received a Zalo friend request from an account named "Wholesale and retail of all kinds of seafood". This account ordered over 300 kg of whiteleg shrimp from Mr. H., worth more than 48 million VND.

The account holder requested Mr. H. to deliver the goods to the Dau Giay wholesale market and a bus station in Dong Nai province. Upon arriving at the delivery point, Mr. H. asked the "stranger" to transfer the money in advance before delivery. The other party then sent a Zalo message with an image of the successful money transfer receipt, matching the recipient information and account number Mr. H. had provided, so he delivered the goods.

However, the next morning, Mr. H. discovered that his bank account had not received the transfer, and when he tried calling both the buyer and the recipient, he was unable to reach them.

Realizing he had been scammed, Mr. H. called Colonel Tran Xuan Anh's hotline to report the incident. Immediately, Colonel Anh instructed the Duyen Hai District Police to coordinate with the professional department to verify the information provided by the victim and promptly carry out investigative measures.

Authorities have identified the fraudster as Lam Bich Thuan (28 years old), residing in Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province.

Five days after receiving the tip, the police arrested Thuan at a guesthouse in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. This is one of dozens of cases that the Director of the Tra Vinh Provincial Police has directly overseen in the past two months.

According to the Tra Vinh Provincial Police, out of more than 300 calls to the Provincial Police Director's hotline, over 140 were reports and denunciations of crimes. These reports mainly concerned acts of property infringement, public order violations, and economic management violations. The remaining calls were reports and suggestions regarding security and order, administrative regulations, and the conduct of police officers.

As a result, the Director of the Tra Vinh Provincial Police directed the handling of nearly 70 reports of crimes and feedback and suggestions from the public.

The Director of the Tra Vinh Provincial Police Department wishes to receive contributions from organizations and individuals via the hotline number 084.345.8484. All information reported through the hotline of the Provincial Police Director will be fully addressed and responded to under the direction of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh.
