Mr. Ho Tuan Anh, Principal of Quynh Phuong Secondary School (Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province ), shared that he couldn't hold back his tears when he witnessed, amidst the pouring rain, a haggard-looking man asking to see the school to submit a petition for tuition fee exemption for his children. The man introduced himself as the uncle of two students at the school. The children's mother was busy caring for her husband in the hospital and therefore couldn't personally bring the petition.

In her application for confirmation of difficult circumstances, the mother wrote that her 37-year-old husband had recently suffered a work-related accident resulting in a spinal injury, requiring emergency treatment. Currently, he is completely paralyzed and is still receiving treatment at Vinh City General Hospital, Nghe An province.
"Since my children's father had the accident, I've had to stay at the hospital to take care of him, so I haven't been able to work. Currently, the treatment costs for my husband are very high, and the family has had to borrow money. Because I can't work, our finances are very difficult," the mother wrote, hoping the school would consider reducing tuition and other fees for her two children.
After confirming that these were indeed the circumstances of two students from his school (the older sister is in 8th grade, the younger sister is in 6th grade), and that their family did not qualify for poverty/near-poverty policies, Mr. Tuan Anh instructed the homeroom teachers to temporarily refrain from urging the two students to pay any contributions.
"I think that without timely support from the school and philanthropists, these children will face great difficulties, and may even risk dropping out," Mr. Tuan Anh shared.
Sympathizing with the plight of his two students, Mr. Tuan Anh took to Facebook to appeal for support in the form of tuition fees, insurance, and other expenses for them.
"For now, I'm only requesting two health insurance coverage slots for the two sisters. The school will gradually cover all other educational expenses," part of the principal's writing stated.
Mr. Tuan Anh said that not long after he posted the story, someone expressed a desire to help the students with their health insurance. Later, a former student of his also contacted him to help cover the tuition fees for the two students for this school year.
“This is a small act, but it is more necessary and urgent than ever to boost the morale of the students and the mother who is still devotedly caring for her husband every day. I would like to thank everyone who has shared in the difficulties of the teachers and students of the school. I only hope that the students will try their best to overcome difficulties and continue their studies,” Mr. Tuan Anh said.
The principal went viral with a photo of him 'swimming into the school' to receive a surprise gift.
