“I was freezing at that moment,” Ryan Luney recalled. Photo: @Guinness World Records.

Because he had to wear several layers of clothing inside that had been soaked in gel and left in the fridge for 24 hours to protect his body, this made Ryan Luney feel extremely cold. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

When ready, the coordinator bent down with a flamethrower to burn Ryan Luney's clothes. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

Ryan Luney started doing as many flips as he could, racing against time and fighting the flames engulfing his body. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

“Basically, all I had to do was focus on moving, doing the flip cleanly, and then going straight into the next flip,” said Ryan Luney. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

“My body was on fire and I needed to move quickly. The oxygen was burning up around me so if I didn’t keep moving I could have a hard time breathing and feel the heat,” Ryan Luney continued. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

At the end of the performance, lifeguards rushed to spray him with a fire extinguisher and used towels to put out the flames on his back. Ryan Luney said he was lucky to not suffer any serious injuries. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

After taking on and completing the challenge, Ryan Luney said he felt like a whole new world of possibilities had opened up before his eyes. Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

“There are so many records that I didn’t even think I could achieve with full-body burns, so now that I’ve done this one, I’m excited and think I can do more.” Photo: @ Guinness World Records.

“I don’t really mind if someone breaks this record. In fact, I really want someone to try, because it’s really a challenge for me. The purpose of setting the record is to prove that I am willing to push any possible limit,” Ryan Luney added. Photo: @Guinness World Records.
