Model Nam Phong suddenly passed away at the age of 36

According to information from the family of model and designer Nam Phong, he passed away on the evening of July 8, at Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital (HCMC).

Brought back to hometown Ca Mau for funeral

Model Nam Phong (real name Ngo Quang Phong) was hospitalized three days ago due to a relapse of an old illness. Nam Phong's family took his body back to his hometown of Ca Mau to prepare for the funeral.

Previously, Nam Phong suddenly posted a photo and clip of himself in the hospital with the caption "25 days of fighting to live".

Nam Phong has post-COVID complications and many diseases. He shared on his personal page that he advises people not to shower at night, and if they have difficulty breathing when climbing stairs, they should go to the hospital for a health check.

Before the sudden passing of Nam Phong, friends and colleagues sent condolences to the family, mourning a gentle, lovable colleague.

Director Quy Khang shared on his personal page: “Farewell to Nam Phong - our beloved colleague. I hope you rest in peace, no more pain, no more worries. Rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who remain. We mourn and say goodbye to you.”

Singer Dan Truong wrote: “My condolences to fashion designer Nam Phong. I must say you designed a lot of stage clothes for me and my fellow artists. Last year you got sick and stopped making clothes. I kept waiting for you to get well soon so I could make clothes for you, but it was too late. Life is truly unpredictable. May you rest in peace, Phong.”

“Mourning model Nam Phong who just passed away due to lung disease. I also asked you to come pick up the ao dai to go to Canada but you called me ten times but I didn’t answer. I hope Nam Phong rests in peace” - singer Doan Truong confided.

Many people were surprised by Nam Phong's sudden passing.

Nam Phong was born in 1989, in Ca Mau province. His mother died at birth, and his father passed away when he was 1 year old.

He was taken in by his uncle and aunt, but their family had problems and he had to face difficulties since he was young. He worked many jobs to pay for his studies and make ends meet.

Thanks to his outstanding height, Nam Phong participated in the Model Star contest and won the bronze medal. He also won the runner-up prize at the Talented Supermodel contest 2015. From then on, he became a model. Later, he turned to fashion design and built a brand that many artists love to wear.
