Model Nam Phong passed away suddenly at the age of 36.

According to information from the family of model and designer Nam Phong, he passed away on the evening of July 8th at Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City).

He was brought back to his hometown in Ca Mau for the funeral arrangements.

Model Nam Phong (real name Ngo Quang Phong) was hospitalized three days ago due to a relapse of a previous illness. His family has brought his body back to his hometown in Ca Mau for the funeral arrangements.

Earlier, Nam Phong unexpectedly posted images and videos of himself in the hospital receiving treatment, along with the caption "25 days of fighting to live."

Nam Phong is suffering from post-COVID complications and multiple health problems. He shared on his personal page, advising people not to shower at night and to go to the hospital for a health check-up if they experience shortness of breath while climbing stairs.

Following Nam Phong's sudden passing, friends and colleagues sent their condolences to his family, mourning the loss of a kind and amiable colleague.

Singer Dan Truong wrote: “My deepest condolences to fashion designer Nam Phong. I must say you designed so many outfits for me and other artists. Last year you were sick and stopped making clothes. I was waiting for you to recover quickly so you could make clothes for me, but it was too late. Life is truly unpredictable. May you rest in peace, Phong.”

"I mourn the passing of model Nam Phong, who died from a lung disease. She even messaged me to pick up her ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) to take to Canada, but I called her dozens of times and she didn't answer. So that's what happened. May Nam Phong rest in peace," singer Doan Truong shared.

Fashion director Ta Nguyen Phuc wrote: "Life is so unpredictable, may Phong rest in peace." Artist Minh Nhi also wrote a farewell message to model Nam Phong.

Many people were surprised by Nam Phong's sudden passing.

Nam Phong was born in 1989 in Ca Mau province. He lost his mother at birth, and his father passed away when he was one year old.

He was taken in by his uncle and aunt, but their family faced hardship, forcing him to confront difficulties from a young age. He worked multiple jobs to pay for his education and living expenses.

Thanks to his outstanding height, Nam Phong participated in the Model Star competition and won the bronze medal. He also won the runner-up title at the 2015 Talented Supermodel competition. From then on, he began his modeling career. Later, he shifted his focus to fashion design and built a brand favored by many artists.
