According to the investigation results, Suong and NTTh (residing in Phu Quoc special zone) knew each other before. In early 2018, to have money to pay off debts and for personal expenses, Suong asked Th to buy all of the inheritance that Suong received from the house and land in Quarter 5, Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province (now Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang Province). On February 6, 2018, the two parties signed a contract to buy and sell land and assets on the land with an agreed price of more than 16.6 billion VND, Suong received 800 million VND from Th.

On April 24, 2023, Suong was granted a land use rights certificate with an area of ​​178.2 ^{square meters} , but Suong did not transfer the inheritance as committed in the land and property sale contract with Th, but Suong transferred this inheritance to Mr. HTT for 17 billion VND.

After that, Mr. T paid off the debt for Suong 7 billion VND and transferred 9.8 billion VND to Suong's account. Suong did not return the 800 million VND to Th but turned off her phone and avoided him, so Th sent a complaint to the police.

After the police issued a search warrant for Suong, she appeared and admitted all her crimes.
