Nguyen Anh Duc sits in the hot seat of Binh Duong Club

Former striker Nguyen Anh Duc will replace coach Nguyen Cong Manh to lead Binh Duong Club for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.

After 5 consecutive matches without a win, Binh Duong Club fell to 8th place in the rankings and no longer has a chance to complete the goal of winning the 2024-2025 V-League championship when losing to the leading team by 17 points after 21 rounds.

Binh Duong Club is an ambitious team, clearly showing its determination to win titles in the domestic league. Over the past two consecutive seasons, Binh Duong has brought in many top V-League stars and also changed the head coach many times but has not been able to realize the goal of returning to the top position on the map of Vietnamese football.

Replacing his predecessor Hoang Anh Tuan from the second leg of the 2024-2025 V-League (December 2024), Coach Nguyen Cong Manh made football fans in the Southeast region excited when he revived the fighting spirit of Binh Duong players, helping the attacking style of the team in Thu Dau Mot improve. During a period of many changes, the young strategist took on the task with the highest sense of responsibility, at times helping Binh Duong overcome difficulties to return to the top 3 of the rankings.

However, in the final leg of the journey to the finish line, Binh Duong struggled and only won 1 victory after 10 rounds, which was the reason why coach Nguyen Cong Manh decided to part ways with the team on May 7. Nguyen Anh Duc is a familiar name to Vietnamese football fans and especially to Binh Duong Club as he is the main striker who has brought many titles to the Go Dau team. The former Vietnamese national team player grew up at Binh Duong's training camp, played for many years and became a "hero" of the team.

At the peak of his career, Anh Duc contributed to the 2018 AFF Cup championship with the Vietnamese team. Moving into coaching, Coach Anh Duc spent time as an assistant to Coach Park Hang-seo at the national team and took charge of Binh Phuoc Club in the National First Division.

Returning to Binh Duong this time as head coach, Anh Duc is expected to create motivation and fighting spirit for the players, the stars who used to be teammates on the national team as well as take advantage of his deep understanding of the team to improve the team's performance.

Binh Duong is currently 11 points behind the top 3 in the rankings but has reached the semi-finals of the National Cup.
