Nguyen Binh district effectively uses social policy credit capital to implement lending programs for poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries. Thereby, promoting household economic development, creating jobs and income for rural workers.
As an area with a large population of ethnic minorities and a high poverty rate, the district focuses on prioritizing all resources to invest in infrastructure and production development. Effectively use credit capital to support people in changing the structure of crops and livestock, diversifying production and business forms; developing typical and regional products associated with the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program, especially key crops such as: vermicelli, bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, medicinal herbs, fruit trees and community tourism .
The whole district grows over 1,700 hectares of cinnamon, 2,300 hectares of bamboo, over 200 hectares of pear, 50 hectares of plum, 40 hectares of dragon fruit. Implementing a number of models of growing grapes, strawberries, and watermelons associated with experiential tourism to bring income to farmers. Promoting production linkages, building organic VietGAP production areas, endemic agricultural production areas associated with brand building, traceability, improving competitiveness and added value of products. Supporting 8 products that meet VietGAP standards such as: cabbage in Vu Minh commune; tangerines in Hoa Tham and Tam Kim communes; pears in Quang Thanh and The Duc communes...
Making a positive contribution to agricultural and rural development, increasing people's income, policy credit capital continues to play an important role as a resource to promote production. Up to now, the total source of social credit capital in the district has reached more than 387.6 billion VND, an increase of over 20.3 billion VND compared to the end of 2023. Loan turnover for programs has reached more than 40.3 billion VND, bringing the total outstanding debt to 387.4 billion VND with 5,439 borrowing households. The outstanding debt growth is mainly concentrated in the loan program to support employment, maintain and expand employment, reaching nearly 27 billion VND. In order for social credit capital to reach the poor and policy beneficiaries quickly and effectively, the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has been maintaining stable transactions in 100% of communes and towns. Strengthening inspection and supervision of the use of loan capital and loan programs; urging capital recovery on time; promptly handle problems arising in practice and propose solutions to increase credit balance growth.
In 2020, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dep's family, Na Khoang hamlet, Vu Minh commune, borrowed 120 million VND from the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office from two programs: lending to the poor and lending to create jobs. Ms. Dep shared: Realizing the potential of the local land suitable for growing forests and medicinal plants, from the end of 2020, my family invested in planting more than 1 hectare of acacia and cinnamon. During the process of planting and caring for acacia trees, my family applied appropriate density planting techniques, regularly cleared weeds, and pruned branches to help the trees grow stably. By 2024, the diameter of the tree will reach 12 - 15 cm, and it is expected to generate income after 10 years.
Director of the Transaction Office of the Bank for Social Policies in Nguyen Binh District, Luong Thanh Hieu, said: Closely following local socio-economic development programs, in recent years, the source of social credit capital has actively supported small and medium-sized production and business households, enterprises, and cooperatives to borrow capital to grow arrowroot, produce arrowroot vermicelli, grow yellow pear, dragon fruit, star anise, cinnamon, medicinal herbs, bamboo poles, etc. The source of social credit loans has become a lever to help the poor and policy beneficiaries develop the economy, improve their lives, and limit the situation of usury and black credit in rural areas.
