The International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) has just launched an experiential program at the Environmental Education Garden (Enviedu Garden) - an exciting journey to discover scientific knowledge.
The "young scientists " were excited to come to the Environmental Education Garden at ICISE Quy Nhon Center.
Mornings from 8am - 11am, afternoons from 2pm - 4:30pm on weekdays, the Environmental Education Garden at ICISE Center (No. 7 Science Avenue, Ghenh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) is open free of charge to individuals and groups interested in the environment (if there are more than 10 guests/group, pre-registration is required), not included in other fee-charging activities.
When coming here, students, university students and the public interested in the environment will participate in a journey of discovering interesting scientific knowledge about 3 topics: ecosystem, waste and water.
Topic 1: exploring the role of organisms in the ecosystem, is a journey to discover the richness of nature through visual models and posters about ecosystems, mangrove forests, beehives, butterfly life cycles and microorganisms.
Practical activities: arrange the life cycle of insects, explore the development process and connections in nature. Observe microorganisms in water under a microscope to understand their role in the ecosystem.
Intuitive, vivid models right at the entrance to the Environmental Education Garden.
Topic 2: Learn about waste, its status and impact on the ecosystem through visual posters with realistic illustrations.
Students are guided to classify waste at source and participate in waste classification practices, thereby raising awareness of environmental protection through practical experience.
Theme 3 is the journey of water: learn about water issues through posters about water origin, water conservation and the water cycle.
Students experience a real water filtration model, thereby better understanding the water filtration process, the importance of water and how to protect this resource.
After finishing the journey with 3 topics, the children freely visited the recycling area and focused on organizing a question and answer game about the 3 main topics they experienced.
Not only "little scientists" but also foreign experts enjoy this creative garden.
According to Dr. Tran Thanh Son – Deputy Director of ICISE Center, the Environmental Education Garden builds experiential models to raise students’ awareness of ecology, environmental protection and sustainable development. At the same time, it encourages the spirit of proactive learning and scientific discovery.
“Through a visual and vivid approach, the project hopes to help students and the public interested in the environment have the opportunity to explore the natural world and practice science to easily acquire knowledge,” Dr. Tran Thanh Son shared.
