PSG are considered the strongest team in the league over the past decade, and they are eager to win their first European title. Meanwhile, Inter are a team with a rich history, hoping to add a fourth Champions League trophy to their glittering collection at the Allianz Arena.

Both clubs deserved to be in the final, but their journeys were completely different. PSG's free-flowing, open style of play captivated everyone's attention, while Inter's skillful and resilient tactical approach left both Bayern Munich and Barcelona heartbroken.

The opportunity to achieve glory is wide open for both teams. PSG are aiming for a historic treble, becoming the first French club to achieve this feat. Conversely, Inter hope to avoid ending the season empty-handed, having still harbored treble dreams just a month ago.

Back in November, few thought PSG could get past the group stage, having finished outside the top 24 at the start of the tournament, and the future of coach Luis Enrique was also in serious doubt. However, the club's dramatic transformation in 2025 has made them the most impressive team in Europe since the beginning of the year.

The Parisian club easily won the Ligue 1 title and defeated Reims in the Coupe de France final last week. Now, they are just one match away from completing the perfect season that their Qatari owners have been waiting for for over 14 years.

Enrique's side fully deserved the silver trophy, after all the hype surrounding their continental achievements and the disappointments they've endured in recent years. They arrived at Anfield and Emirates to triumph on their knockout stage journey, and then showed resilience to stop Aston Villa in the quarter-finals.

French football is lacking success at the continental level, with Marseille being the only club to have ever won the tournament. However, a potentially positive sign for PSG is their success in Munich against a Milanese club, with Marseille defeating AC Milan at the Olympic Stadium in 1993. Furthermore, in all four times the final has been held in Munich, the winning team was a first-time champion, so PSG will want to join Nottingham Forest, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea on this list.

PSG is the most recent French team to win a continental title, but that title came in a competition that has ceased to exist for almost three decades, with their first success being in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (Cup C2) in 1995-96.

The French club lost the Champions League final in 2020 to Bayern Munich. However, Inter suffered the same fate in 2023, when they were beaten by Man City in Istanbul. That defeat means that on all three occasions Inter lost the Champions League final to a club that had won the treble, something PSG would achieve if they won here. However, the Italian giants have plenty of history to rely on, with three Champions League titles already won.

After failing in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, Simone Inzaghi's side will be eager to redeem themselves for not winning both competitions, as well as the final two years prior. Fans have talked a lot about a treble after their incredible 7-6 aggregate victory over Barcelona in the semi-finals, which didn't materialize, but winning the Champions League would still mark one of the greatest seasons in the club's history.

However, Inter's form hasn't been particularly convincing in recent months, only managing to beat Bayern after an away win, losing to Bologna and Roma in Serie A, dropping points against Lazio which cost them the title, and being eliminated from the Coppa Italia by AC Milan after a heavy home defeat.

The Nerazzurri are now a stronger team than they were in 2023 when they were beaten by Man City in Istanbul, and captain Lautaro Martinez has made it clear that the whole team is determined to win since that defeat. Inter's strength lies in their consistent control of the game, having taken the lead in 11 of their 14 Champions League matches this season, while only trailing by a total of seven minutes – in injury time against Bayer Leverkusen in the group stage, and in the final minute against Barcelona in the second leg of the semi-final before Francesco Acerbi equalized.

Inzaghi's team entered the final as the slightly underdog, but they weren't highly rated either in their matches against Bayern and Barca. Therefore, underestimating Inter was extremely dangerous.

Team lineup information

Ahead of the highly anticipated match, both teams received good news as they possessed almost their full squads, with no significant injury concerns.

On the PSG side, apart from Presnel Kimpembe, who missed almost the entire season due to a leg injury and suspension, coach Enrique has his full squad at his disposal. This allows him to replicate the lineup that faced Arsenal in the semi-finals.

Notably, Ousmane Dembele, who only came on as a substitute in the second leg, is likely to return to the starting lineup. The difficult decision will fall to Enrique as he has to choose between Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is predicted to be a starter.

On Inter Milan's side, injury concerns have been allayed as the only two players in doubt, Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski, have both returned to training this week. Both have shown optimism and are ready to feature in the squad tomorrow morning.

Captain Lautaro Martinez, who hasn't played since the second-leg victory against Barcelona (despite playing 70 minutes while injured), has had ample time to rest and recover. This ensures he will be in top form for the crucial upcoming match.

Coach Inzaghi also made careful calculations by resting most of his starting lineup in the away match against Como last Friday. Only goalkeeper Yann Sommer, full-back Federico Dimarco, and attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu were retained, demonstrating Inter's thorough preparation for this match.
