Replicating effective new cooperative models

Proactively transforming the organizational structure and operations according to the Law on Cooperatives (Cooperatives) 2023; focusing on building and forming production and business models associated with value chains... is the direction applied by many cooperatives in the province. Thoroughly implementing the Party's viewpoint on consolidating and developing the collective economy , the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have focused on leading and directing the enhancement of the core role of cooperatives through the issuance of support policies, such as: Project on developing collective economy and cooperatives in the province, period 2021-2025; Resolution No. 04 of the Provincial People's Council on a number of policies to support the development of collective economy in the province...

In particular, focusing on supporting training and human resource development; supporting trade promotion, market expansion; supporting access to credit capital; supporting capacity building...

Through support policies, a number of cooperatives after conversion or newly established have boldly invested and applied scientific and technical advances in production, increasing product quality and value, meeting market demand, typically: Tuoi Tre Construction Materials Cooperative (Vinh Yen), Nhan Ly Agricultural Service Cooperative (Binh Xuyen), Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative (Tam Dao), Van Hoi Xanh Safe Vegetable Cooperative (Tam Duong)...

Pursuant to Decision No. 167 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Selecting, perfecting, and replicating effective new-style cooperative models in localities across the country for the period 2021 - 2025", the Department of Finance coordinated with departments, branches, and localities to select 5 cooperatives eligible to participate in the Project, including: Tam Dao Dairy Cow Breeding Cooperative; Dai Lai Agricultural Cooperative (Phuc Yen), Nhan Ly Agricultural Service Cooperative (Binh Xuyen)...

Implementing the project, cooperatives are supported with many policies such as: Support for capacity building and awareness for the collective economic sector, support for investment in infrastructure and product processing... In 2 years (2023 - 2024), the province will spend nearly 1.2 billion VND to support monthly salary costs for young workers to work at some cooperatives in the area.

Up to now, the whole province has more than 730 cooperatives, including 402 agricultural cooperatives, 63 industrial and handicraft cooperatives, 15 construction cooperatives, 123 trade and service cooperatives, 19 transportation cooperatives...

Average revenue reached 1.6 billion VND/cooperative/year; average profit was nearly 260 million VND/cooperative/year, creating jobs for more than 38,500 people, average income of workers reached nearly 70 million VND/person/year...

The “bright spot” in the collective economic movement must include Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, Hop Chau town (Tam Dao) with many products researched and processed from Cordyceps that meet high quality standards, such as: Cordyceps water, Cordyceps Nano cordymilk, Cordyceps Core Extract... trusted, welcomed and highly appreciated by customers. Among them, many products have been recognized as meeting 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards.

Instead of doing business in the traditional way, the Board of Directors of the cooperative focuses on exploiting the strengths of the Internet by promoting communication on 6 fanpages on the social networking platform Facebook and the website under its management, attracting thousands of followers and interactions.

Along with that, regularly coordinate with departments, branches, units to organize training courses on marketing management, sales, market, supply chain for members and employees. Strengthen links with businesses, units, gradually expand markets, raw material areas; invest in equipment and machinery... to launch new products to meet consumer needs as well as increasingly affirm prestige and position in the market.

Under the flexible management of the Board of Directors, Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative has achieved many proud achievements such as: Certificate of Vietnam Agricultural Gold Brand, certificate of typical rural industrial products in the Northern region in 2024; Top 100 typical cooperatives nationwide, honored and awarded "Cooperative Star - CoopStar Awards 2025"...

In 2024 alone, the cooperative will achieve a revenue of nearly 2 billion VND, create jobs for more than 30 workers with an average income of 5 - 8 million VND/person/month and attract over 10,000 visitors to visit and experience OCOP products.

The establishment and development of new-style cooperatives has shown a change in production thinking, creating stable jobs for many workers in localities in the province. On that basis, the provincial departments and branches continue to research and propose effective implementation of support policies on land, credit, investment promotion, trade, etc.

The Provincial Cooperative Union continues to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts and cities to develop and propose plans to replicate effective new cooperative models in the 2026-2030 period. Focus on guiding cooperatives on administrative procedures to enjoy support policies according to Resolution No. 04 of the Provincial People's Council. Promote trade promotion solutions, develop consumer markets; create conditions for cooperatives to access capital, science and technology, etc.

In addition, cooperatives also need to invest in developing and perfecting infrastructure to serve production and business, proactively restructuring products in line with the potential and advantages of each region and locality. From there, promoting the effectiveness and superiority of the new cooperative model, enhancing the strength of the province's collective economic and cooperative sectors.
