In Chiem Hoa district, the movement "Tuyen Quang joins hands to treat waste and fight plastic waste" with the motto "strongly focusing on the grassroots" launched by the district Fatherland Front Committee has contributed to replicating models of self-managed groups and teams to protect the environment, collect, treat waste and fight plastic waste in all residential areas.
Mr. Trieu Duc Long - Head of the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Chiem Hoa District Fatherland Front Committee said that up to now, the district has 705 self-managed groups and teams in residential areas with over 27,300 members carrying out the following activities: Cleaning village roads and alleys, collecting pesticide packaging, collecting and classifying waste, maintaining security and order, developing the economy , lighting up rural roads...
Through this, self-governing groups and teams have developed operating regulations and assigned tasks to members of the self-governing group. These activities are increasingly effective and creative, with voluntary and self-conscious participation from the people, becoming a tradition, contributing to building bright, green, clean, beautiful residential areas and improving the criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the locality.
In Yen Son town, Yen Son district is also one of the units that effectively implement self-management groups and environmental protection models. Mr. Ban Quang Hung - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Son town said that in order to effectively implement the movement "Tuyen Quang joins hands to treat waste and fight plastic waste", the town Party Committee has issued a Resolution on leading the work of building a model of self-management residential areas associated with the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" in the town.
Accordingly, the locality has focused on building 21 residential groups into self-managed groups, self-managed environmental protection groups, each group has 10 members from the Front Working Committee, mass organizations and prestigious people in the community. In 2023, the self-managed groups collected over 2 tons of plastic waste, of which over 1.5 tons of plastic waste were used for sale, raising over 30 million VND. Over 600 kg of pesticide containers were collected in the fields to be transported for destruction...
It is known that currently in Tuyen Quang province, many projects and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations have created close, effective coordination and participation, attracting a large number of union members in maintaining environmental hygiene.
