Nhan Thanh commune is located in the southeast of Yen Thanh district, adjacent to Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district, with a total natural area of 947.20 hectares, of which the rice area accounts for nearly 554 hectares, the total population of the commune is 9,597 people.
A land of studiousness and rich revolutionary tradition
In 1953, Nhan Thanh commune was separated from Yen Trung commune. During the resistance wars against French and American colonialists, the Party Committee and people of Nhan Thanh commune made many great contributions; Thousands of children of Nhan Thanh commune joined the army, including 166 martyrs, 180 wounded and sick soldiers, 21 people infected with toxic chemicals, and 15 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Comrades Phan Van Quy and Nguyen Phan Thanh were honored to be awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State.
January 27, 1973, An outstanding son of Nhan Thanh commune, comrade Nguyen Ba Dan (aka Ly Van Sau) had the honor of representing the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam to participate in the negotiations to sign the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam.
Nhan Thanh is also known as a land with a rich cultural tradition. There are many families of scholars and learned people here. A typical example is researcher and translator Phan Ngoc - who has translated many famous and valuable works of world literature into Vietnamese such as Greek Mythology, War and Peace from the original Russian, Shakespeare plays from English, Sima Qian's Historical Records and Du Fu's poetry... He is fluent in 5 foreign languages: Latin, Chinese, French, English, and Italian.
Promoting the tradition of solidarity, creativity, and efforts to overcome difficulties, although the commune is located in a low-lying area, mainly dependent on agriculture with many difficulties, in recent years, the local Party Committee and government have focused on economic development, with many solutions to transform the structure of crops and livestock to suit local conditions, diversify economic sectors in line with the socio -economic development trend of the district and the province...
Efforts to build advanced new rural areas
In the process of building advanced new rural areas, Nhan Thanh commune also encountered many difficulties. The commune has reviewed and re-evaluated each criterion to build a roadmap and implementation plan for each stage. Identifying that production innovation, improving income and living standards for people are important goals of building new rural areas, the commune has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to change the structure of crops and livestock, apply scientific and technical advances in production, and increase economic value. Bringing high-quality rice varieties into production such as Phu Uu 978, Thai Xuyen 111, 27P53... The commune focuses on bringing mechanization into the fields synchronously from land preparation, transplanting machines, and spraying pesticides with "airplanes" synchronously with an area of 200/554 hectares of rice.
In addition, Nhan Thanh commune has linked more than 100 hectares of high-quality rice products with businesses inside and outside the province to consume, thanks to which the economic value of 1 sao of rice has increased by 20-30%.
In addition, the commune has zoned off for households to develop livestock farms, grow vegetables and fruits in greenhouses... bringing in income many times higher than rice cultivation.
To implement the criteria of organizing production and developing rural areas, Nhan Thanh commune also encourages people to introduce and develop local occupations to create jobs and increase income for workers. Along the provincial roads, Nhan Thanh commune strongly develops commercial services, such as petroleum trading, mechanical processing, electronics... creating jobs for hundreds of workers. In particular, the commune strongly develops construction teams for civil works, every house has "the husband builds, the wife helps". The whole commune currently has over 150 construction teams, creating jobs for over 2,000 idle agricultural workers...
Implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, the commercial duck egg product of Nhan Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative is currently recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. Thanks to dynamic economic development, the average income per capita of Nhan Thanh commune reaches over 59 million VND/year.
Mr. Phan Van Thanh - Secretary of Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee said: The breakthrough that has created remarkable achievements of the Party Committee and People of Nhan Thanh commune over the past 70 years is the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Thanks to the joint efforts and consensus of the entire population, and the dynamism in the direction of the Party Committee and the government, many resources have been attracted to invest in building rural infrastructure. Currently, 100% of the rural traffic system has been concreted and asphalted, and the school system at all levels has been newly built.
After 11 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Nhan Thanh commune has mobilized more than 358.4 billion VND for the New Rural Construction Program, of which people contributed more than 249.8 billion VND and thousands of working days, donated thousands of square meters of land, trees, fences; built welcome gates, volleyball courts in villages. In 2014, Nhan Thanh commune was recognized as a commune meeting new rural standards. On March 15, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to recognize the commune as meeting advanced new rural standards.
Focus on building cultural institutions
Not only creating a strong change in economic development, the local cultural and social work has achieved many remarkable results. The commune always pays attention to building cultural institutions, developing cultural and artistic movements, physical education and sports to improve the spiritual life of the people.
The commune has always maintained universal primary education for the right age and universal secondary education in all 3/3 schools that meet national standards, including 1 school that meets national standards level 2; 9/9 villages have achieved the title of Cultural Village, the rate of Cultural Families reaches 95%; the rate of poor households has decreased to 1.14%. Health care has always been given attention and investment, and the commune has maintained its position as meeting the National Criteria for Health.
After 70 years of construction and development, Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee has been constantly consolidated and developed in both quantity and quality, stable in political ideology, and strong in organization. Up to now, Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee has 420 party members, operating in 14 party cells, every year over 95% of party cells and party members are assessed as completing their tasks well or better. The Party Committee has 373 party members awarded Party badges of various types. For many years, the Party Committee has been classified as Excellent in completing its tasks.
Over the years, Nhan Thanh Commune Party Committee has always focused on Party building and developing new Party members, improving the quality of Party members.
