Quickly remove obstacles in site clearance for My Thuan - Can Tho expressway project

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Quynh Thien directed to remove difficulties for the project, soon hand over the site to My Thuan Project Management Board.

According to the report of the Department of Construction, the main project has completed site clearance and will be put into operation at the end of 2023; currently, additional items are facing difficulties. Specifically, according to Decision No. 1130/QD-TTg dated October 9, 2024 of the Prime Minister , the project has been adjusted and supplemented with the intersection on Vo Van Kiet Street and the residential road system through Tan Ngai Ward and My Thuan Commune.

For additional items, Tan Ngai ward has announced land reclamation and is continuing to implement procedures. However, My Thuan commune has not yet announced land reclamation, the reason is that the Provincial People's Committee has not assigned the unit to be the investor of the GPMB sub-project.

The leaders of the Department of Construction reported on the project, difficulties, problems and recommendations.

Representatives of the My Thuan Project Management Board proposed solutions to overcome difficulties.

In addition, the project still has some other problems such as refunding advance resettlement funds, settlement records of land acquisition costs and compensation for resettlement differences.

The My Thuan Project Management Board expressed concern that the construction progress scheduled for September 2025 would be seriously affected if site clearance work was not accelerated.

Faced with that situation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Quynh Thien requested relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to quickly carry out procedures, remove each difficulty within their management scope, try to handle and hand over the site to the My Thuan Project Management Board to implement the project on schedule.
