Laughing with Uncle Ba Phi continues to bring meaningful messages and life lessons through recent episodes. From how to treat others to warnings about negative realities, all are built into interesting, unmissable storylines.
In the last episode of "Laughing with Uncle Ba Phi," a humorous story that conveys a profound message about competitiveness and its consequences was told through the character Quy, played by actor Huynh Quy.
Tuan (actor Duy Linh) is a dedicated electrical engineer who is researching solar batteries to help people in the neighborhood save electricity and protect the environment. One time, while Tuan was busy fetching water, Quy curiously played around, watched and tried out tools to make backup batteries.
Back home, Quy decided to make his own solar panels, even skipping meals to study. He brought the results to Uncle Ba Phi's house (artist Trung Dan) to test. Coincidentally, Tuan was also there to install the solar panels for Uncle Ba. Before that, Tuan had stopped by Quy's house at Quy's wife's request to see the panels he had made himself.
As a friend, Tuan frankly advised Quy to check his battery because it was not safe. However, because of his competitive nature, Quy was upset, thinking that Tuan was just "pretending" and "destroying the village" and then angrily left.
However, later, Quy's solar panel started smoking and caused a fire in the house. At this point, Quy had to confess to Uncle Ba Phi that he had stolen Tuan's design. The irony was that the design was not yet complete and Tuan was still in the process of researching and editing.
The story is a profound lesson about patience, humility and honesty, while also bringing hearty laughter to the audience.
