In the match between Japan and Colombia, Kaoru Mitoma left his mark from the cross of his teammate. The 1.78 m tall star jumped high and paused in the air for a moment before putting the ball into the net to open the score for the home team Japan in the 3rd minute.

However, Mitoma's brilliance was not enough to help Japan win against Colombia. The South American team had an impressive away match when they successfully came back with goals from Jhon Duran and Rafael Santos Borre in the 33rd and 61st minutes, helping Colombia win 2-1.
Three days ago, Japan only managed a 1-1 draw against Uruguay. Colombia continued their impressive start under coach Nestor Lorenzo when they drew 2-2 with South Korea on March 24.
At home in Seoul, South Korea played against Uruguay. Uruguay played effectively at the beginning of the match and in the 10th minute, center-back Sebastian Coates joined the attack and headed the ball into the home team's net to open the score 1-0.

Thanks to a mistake by defender Santiago Bueno, Uruguay scored in the 51st minute, after a decisive finish by Hwang In Beom. But in the 64th minute, Matias Vecino took advantage of his teammate's failed free kick to score a rebound into the Korean net, helping Uruguay lead 2-1.
The last 20 minutes of the match saw controversy over VAR technology. In the 73rd minute, Kim Young-Gwon jumped high to head the ball into the Uruguay net from close range. This was a sensitive situation because goalkeeper Santiago Mele (Uruguay) failed to catch the ball. After nearly 10 minutes of consulting VAR, the referee returned to the field and revoked the goal because he determined that the Korean player had committed a foul.
6 minutes before the end of the match, Uruguay's net shook again after Oh Hyeon Gyu turned around and decisively shot. However, VAR technology intervened and once again took away the home team's goal, this time due to Oh Hyeon Gyu's offside error, causing Korea to bitterly lose 1-2.
