Having first visited Vietnam as a student, Vladimir Murashkin, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture, is always proud to have contributed to the cooperation and exchange of culture, science, and education between the two countries. Speaking to TG&VN, he shared that the Center has many surprises in store for those who love Russia in Vietnam.
For a long time, the Russian Science and Culture Center has been a common home for those who love science, language, and culture from Russia. Could you share your impressions of the Vietnamese public's response to the Center's activities?

Your comment is absolutely correct! The Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi is a place that attracts those who love Russia, are interested in Russia's past and present, and want to connect with our country through plans for the future for themselves, their relatives, families, and children...
Here, we regularly organize Russian language courses, clubs, exhibitions and film screenings, as well as advanced classes on Russian cuisine.
In the summer, we have camping trips for children. Especially on Wednesdays, the Beryozka folk dance group rehearses in the hall.
As can be seen, it has received a positive response from a wide range of the public, from preschool children, students, teachers, professors, members of creative associations, representatives of scientific organizations, social activists, and public opinion leaders...
We maintain regular contact with domestic ministries and agencies, business representatives, and the media. In particular, we highly appreciate the close cooperation of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
Thanks to your support, our hall has often not had enough space for everyone to attend. To organize tours by Russian artists and other large-scale events, we have had to rely on the assistance of partners in other locations.
Recently, the Center has organized many outstanding events such as the Immortal Regiment, the Week commemorating the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet A.S. Pushkin… So what other activities can the public look forward to this year?
Every autumn, we carry out Russian projects for those learning and teaching Russian in Vietnam. This involves over 5,000 students and approximately 200 secondary school teachers and university lecturers.
Russian universities are participating in a competition to win the right to organize events aimed at promoting and strengthening the position of the Russian language in Vietnam.
This year, a team from Moscow State University of Linguistics (MSLU) will be coming to us. The project has nationwide coverage: Hanoi and the northern provinces, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Russian experts will conduct open lessons and advanced classes, creative workshops, and seminars on teaching methods.
The exchange of experiences at the locations of the Russian Center for Science and Culture and educational institutions in the country, along with demonstrations and discussions of innovative teaching methods, contributes to increasing interest in the Russian language among young people and helps teachers enrich their methodological repertoire.
Regarding your interest in the topic of cultural exchange, I would prefer not to reveal our plans at this time. However, we are preparing a surprise for lovers of Russian art this autumn.
Besides its strengths in cultural activities, what other areas does the Center wish to develop further to comprehensively promote exchanges and make a positive contribution to cooperative relations between the two countries?
Next year, our priority will be working with young people who want to pursue free university education in Russia. Therefore, the application period for the 2025-2026 academic year will begin in September. Registration will be open on the website “Education in Russia”.
Young Vietnamese citizens wishing to take advantage of the opportunity to study at Russian universities for free under the Russian government's scholarship program can apply.

The Russian Agency for Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) is the unified body responsible for selecting young people to study abroad in Russia. In Vietnam, all matters concerning educational cooperation are handled by Rossotrudnichestvo's representative office, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi.
Therefore, from September to December, our priority is working with young people, including the "Introduction Day of Russian Universities in Vietnam" project.
Thank you very much, sir!
The Russian Science and Culture Center in Hanoi is an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Officially inaugurated on September 27, 2003, the Center had already played a crucial role in strengthening bilateral relations between state organizations, scientific and cultural organizations, and commercial organizations of the two countries. Given its important role in developing Vietnam-Russia relations, the Center's main task is to collaborate with Vietnam in promoting Russia and its unique cultural characteristics, as well as popularizing the Russian language in Vietnam. |
