Speaking to reporters of the People's Representative Newspaper, Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong, Vice Principal of Hanoi University, said that according to the 2025 enrollment information just announced by Hanoi University, this year the University will still maintain the same 3 enrollment methods but with some new highlights. Specifically as follows:
Raise the threshold to ensure input quality to 22 points (on a 40-point scale) with a combination of 3 admission subjects
From 2024 onwards, the threshold to ensure input quality (Floor score for admission) for full-time university is the total score of 03 exam subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language or Math, Physics, English from 16 points or higher (out of a total score of 30 of 03 exam subjects, not multiplied by the coefficient of 2 Foreign Language exams).
In 2025, the threshold to ensure input quality is the total score of 03 subjects in each group: Math, Literature, Foreign Language or Math, Physics, English or Math, Informatics, English of the 2025 high school graduation exam from 22 points or higher (on a 40-point scale, Foreign Language subject multiplied by a coefficient of 2).
Double foreign language scores in all training programs
Unlike previous school years, in 2025, the subject combinations for admission to the 27 regular university training programs of the University (except for the Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture major for admission to international students) will have their Foreign Language scores doubled.

Unify the admission score for each major/training program
In previous school years, if a major/training program had different admission methods, the admission score for each method would be different. However, in 2025, the School will regulate the admission score between the groups and admission methods to unify the admission score for each major/training program (on a 40-point scale, with the Foreign Language exam multiplied by a coefficient of 2).
There are only 4 groups of combined admission candidates left.
In 2025, it is expected that there will be only 04 candidates subject to combined admission, including: Candidates with international and national foreign language proficiency certificates; Candidates with SAT, ACT & A-levels test results; Candidates who are students in specialized classes, bilingual classes at specialized high schools; Candidates who won First-Second-Third prizes at the provincial/municipal level in the 2024-2025 school year.
It can be seen that compared to previous years, 2 groups of candidates participating in the combined admission exam have been eliminated, including: Candidates who are high school students with the results of the capacity assessment of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University and candidates with the results of the thinking assessment of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Candidates who are members of the National Excellent Student Team, candidates participating in the National Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates participating in the monthly round of the Road to Olympia competition of Vietnam Television.

Total score for admission
For the combined admission method according to the School's regulations:
Admission score = Average score (GPA) + Priority points (if any) x 4/3 + Encouragement points
In there:
- Average score (GPA) = Average Math score + Average Literature score + Average Foreign Language score x 2.
- Average score = Average score of 06 semesters of each subject (Math, Literature or Foreign Language)
For the Admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam:
For all majors: Admission score = Math score + Literature score + Foreign language score (coefficient 2) + Priority score (if any) x 4/3.
For Information Technology: Admission score = Math score + Physics/Literature/Information Technology score + English score (coefficient 2) + Priority score (if any) x 4/3.
For Financial Technology: Admission score = Math score + Physics/Literature score + English score (coefficient 2) + Priority score (if any) x 4/3.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong also noted that for candidates who register their wishes, the total score for admission includes priority points and bonus points (if any), ranked from high to low. The system will conduct multiple admission rounds until the quota for each major is full, following the principle of taking scores from high to low.
The School considers bonus points for combined admission methods according to the School's regulations. When many candidates at the end of the list have the same total admission score and the same wishes, the School applies the following secondary criteria in the following order of priority: Foreign Language score, Literature/Physics/Information Technology score and Math score.
