Many businesses make efforts to give Tet bonuses to employees

To retain employees, businesses have had many preferential policies, welfare regimes, and appropriate Tet bonuses.

As the Lunar New Year approaches in 2024, the care for workers is of special concern to all levels of Trade Unions and enterprises in the province, creating conditions for workers to have a joyful and warm New Year.

The highest bonus is 217 million VND, the lowest is 0.1 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh - Head of the Department of Vocational Training - Labor, Employment and Labor Safety (Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs) said that through the review and synthesis work, up to now, 266 enterprises and production and business establishments have reported on salaries and bonuses for Tet. Of which, the enterprise with the highest actual salary is 217 million VND, the lowest salary is 3.64 million VND.

There are 214 enterprises planning to give Tet bonuses to employees, the highest bonus is 217 million VND, the lowest is 0.1 million VND. Accordingly, 137/176 foreign-invested enterprises plan to give Tet bonuses to 90,893 employees, with the highest bonus being 200 million VND (Aerotact TN Co., Ltd., Phuoc Dong Industrial Park, Go Dau District has the highest bonus), the lowest is 0.1 million VND, the average is 6.7 million VND. Currently, there are 39 foreign-invested enterprises that have not planned Tet bonuses, with 34,254 employees.

In the private enterprise sector, 64/76 enterprises with about 8,695 employees are expected to give an average bonus of VND8.2 million, the lowest is VND0.2 million. Of which, The Ky Vang Trading Company Limited (Moc Bai Economic Zone, Ben Cau District) has the highest expected bonus of VND217 million. 8 companies with State-controlled shares and capital contributions are expected to give Tet bonuses to 2,983 employees, an average of VND6.67 million, the highest bonus is VND62.2 million, the lowest is VND0.5 million.

5/6 LLCs with 100% charter capital held by the State are expected to give an average bonus of 7 million VND for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin - 2024, of which the highest is 71.4 million VND and the lowest is 1 million VND.

According to the assessment, although this year has many difficulties, the Trade Union at all levels has issued a plan to take care of workers during Tet very early. This year, in addition to supporting money and gifts, the Trade Union also organized bus ticket support for workers in distant provinces to return home for Tet.

No business owes salary

Not outside the impact of the world economic situation, in 2023, many businesses encountered many difficulties, directly affecting production and business, reducing orders, many businesses operated at a standstill, especially businesses in industrial parks, export processing zones, economic zones, affecting the income of workers. In that context, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing, organizing and implementing drastic and synchronous solutions for socio-economic development. In addition, with the solidarity, unity, and close coordination of Party committees and authorities, the participation of the entire political system, the efforts of the entire Party Committee, people and business community, helping businesses overcome difficulties, while complying with the provisions of the law, especially in paying salaries and making efforts to give Tet bonuses to workers.

According to the report of the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union, by the end of 2023, in industrial parks and economic zones, there were 384 valid investment projects (285 FDI projects, 99 domestic projects) with a total registered investment capital equivalent to 9,077.88 million USD and 20,944.52 billion VND. Of which, 289 projects were operating in production and business. During the year, 5 enterprises with 939 employees had to stop operating due to lack of orders. However, no enterprise owed wages to employees. Up to now, 126/171 enterprises have planned to give Tet bonuses to about 73,887 employees, while the remaining 45 enterprises have not planned to give Tet bonuses.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, there are no enterprises in the province that have incurred unpaid wages. However, there are still 52 enterprises that have not yet planned to give bonuses for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin - 2024 to employees. In 2023, 329 enterprises will organize periodic dialogues at the workplace, receiving 72 collective labor agreements. In addition, there are 7 individual labor disputes and 5 strikes.

As of mid-January 2024, enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones still maintain production, ensure the lives of workers, especially maintaining benefits and salaries, and at the same time announce bonuses for workers during the Lunar New Year. This creates excitement and motivation for workers to stay with the company and enterprise.
