According to HK01 on August 2, Li Jianren recently met with director Li Lizhi for tea and shared his recent situation. On his personal page, filmmaker Li also posted a video of his appointment with the star of the film Tang Bohu and revealed the actor's current health. Mr. Li said that Li Jianren is actively rehabilitating, the male artist can walk but his mobility is still limited, he can speak short, simple sentences, and still needs more practice. The director hopes that Stephen Chow's former co-star will soon have the opportunity to return to the screen.

In his latest appearance, Ly Kien Nhan looked much thinner but had a fresh look and cheerful spirit. The 64-year-old actor is happy because after brain surgery and long-term physical therapy, he can now stand up, walk and communicate with people around him.

Hong Kong news site revealed that in 2019, Ly Kien Nhan suffered a stroke, threatening his life. The veteran actor had to undergo emergency brain surgery. Despite receiving special care and luckily escaping death, he still could not return to his previous normal life. The star of the movie Quan Xam Loc Coc suffered left brain damage, paralysis on the right side of his body and for a period of time lost the ability to speak. After the incident, he focused on treatment and physical therapy in Hong Kong. "Nhu Hoa Co Nuong" used to be depressed and miserable because he had to sit in a wheelchair and could not express what he wanted to say. Fortunately, after about 2 years of perseverance, his condition improved, and he became more comfortable and optimistic.

Lee Kien Nhan was born in 1961 and joined the Hong Kong entertainment industry in the late 1980s. The veteran artist is known to many audiences for often dressing as a woman, playing the roles of ugly, flirtatious female characters, wearing gaudy makeup, often picking their noses, and acting exaggeratedly (often called Nhu Hoa) in many of Stephen Chow's comedies.

Notable works featuring Ly Kien Nhan include: The Beggar King To Khat Nhi, Duong Ba Ho Diem Thu Huong, Quan Xam Loc Coc, Quoc San 007, Thieu Lam Soccer... In addition to Chau Tinh Tri's films, he also acted in: Dai Lao Ai My Le, Tinh Mad Dai Thanh, Anh Hung Mat Chuoc, My Nu Thuc Than... The male artist worked as a producer for Star Overseas - a film company co-founded by Chau Tinh Tri.

In the later stages of his career, Lee Kien Nhan shifted his focus to the mainland market. After the stroke, he returned to Hong Kong to focus on treatment and rehabilitation. The male artist lives a private life with his wife and has three grown children (1 boy, 2 girls). In recent years, the male artist has not acted in films or appeared in public.
