More than 800 businesses operating in the mechanical field

According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, implementing Decision No. 319, dated March 15, 2018 of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's mechanical industry, up to now, the province's mechanical industry has achieved many positive results, considered a key industry, accounting for the second largest proportion in the province's industrial production value structure, with an average growth rate of 6% per year in the period 2016 - 2025. The main mechanical products are ships with a capacity of 70,000 - 100,000 DWT.

By 2025, the province will have more than 800 enterprises operating in the mechanical engineering sector; including large mechanical investment projects such as: HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.; Vina Nha Trang Mechanical Joint Stock Company, Miboo Vina Co., Ltd.; SCALEAQ Co., Ltd., Gia Bao Mechanical Co., Ltd. The total production value of the mechanical engineering industry accounts for about 31% of the total production value of the entire industry and 35% of the total export turnover value of the whole province.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, Khanh Hoa province has proposed a list of key mechanical products calling for investment such as: Projects for manufacturing standard and non-standard steel structures; manufacturing containers, tanks, large-sized metal barrels, large-sized steel pipes; manufacturing and assembling engines and spare parts for ships with a tonnage of 6,500 DWT or more; projects in high-tech manufacturing industry, precision mechanics, new materials industry, electronics industry, electronic equipment and electronic circuit boards, supporting industry; attracting investment in facilities for building composite-hulled boats for fishing and tourism , etc.
