This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has increased the Lunar New Year bonus for all its faculty, staff, and employees. Specifically, this year's bonus includes a 13th-month salary based on each individual's salary, plus an additional bonus of 15 million VND per person.

With these bonus levels, the average Tet bonus for each faculty member and staff member at the school is highest at 42 million VND and lowest at approximately 28 million VND.

Thus, the total budget for Tet bonuses in 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is approximately 50 billion VND - the highest ever. The university currently has about 1,500 staff, lecturers, and workers.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has decided to pay a 13th-month salary and Tet bonus of 25 million VND to everyone from janitors to the rector, regardless of position or title.

The above rate applies to all officials, employees, and school leaders who have worked for one year or more. This bonus does not apply to daily wage or seasonal contracts.

Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology announced that it will pay Tet bonuses according to the regulations on the 13th-month salary for its staff, employees, and lecturers. Employees will receive a Tet bonus equivalent to one month's current salary.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education is giving out Tet bonuses this year that are equivalent to last year's. Accordingly, each staff member, lecturer, and employee of the university will receive a bonus equivalent to one month's salary and 25 million VND.

This includes a monthly salary comprising both the salary stipulated by the state and the salary based on the school's salary structure.

Based on this calculation, the lowest Lunar New Year bonus at the University of Technology and Education is approximately 30 million VND, while the highest is 70-80 million VND.

Dong A University ( Da Nang ) determines the Tet bonus for its staff based on work performance. The university applies a minimum bonus of 13th-month salary for each staff member, gradually increasing to 2-3 months' salary, with the highest being 4 months' salary.

Regarding work performance, the school will base its decision on the percentage of graduates achieving high output competencies (connecting students with businesses to work abroad, 100% of students achieving foreign language proficiency, etc.) to determine Tet bonuses for staff and lecturers.

Currently, the average income for university staff is around 10 million VND/month, and for lecturers it's 15-20 million VND/month. Therefore, the highest bonus a lecturer at Dong A University could receive could reach approximately 80 million VND.

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Law currently has approximately 400 staff, lecturers, and employees. The university plans to provide Tet bonuses for 2024, including a 13th-month salary and performance-based bonuses, ranging from 13.5 to 70 million VND per person, depending on income, position, and performance results.

In addition, each staff member, lecturer, and employee received a gift from the school's Trade Union worth approximately 800,000 VND.

Therefore, some staff and lecturers at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law may receive Tet bonuses of up to over 100 million VND per person.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University maintains a Tet bonus rate of 1.5 times the monthly salary, with the rule that everyone is treated equally, regardless of job position.

The University of Finance and Marketing is allocating approximately 4.5 billion VND to pay Tet (Lunar New Year) bonuses for 2024 to more than 600 staff, lecturers, and employees working at the university.

With this bonus, each person will receive 7.5 million VND, distributed equally from management to staff.

According to Government Decree 60 of 2021, the school allocates its annual financial results to four funds: Development of professional activities (at least 25%), Supplementary income, Rewards and welfare; and Other funds.

After establishing four funds, the remaining surplus of revenue over expenditure is added to the Career Development Fund.

Schools have ensured that all or part of their regular operating expenses are allocated to a reward and welfare fund equivalent to 1.5-3 months' salary or wages per year. Therefore, schools often provide staff, employees, and faculty with one or two months' income during the Lunar New Year, known as a "Tet bonus".
