Many activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic relations

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (1975 - 2025), Hanoi city coordinated with the German Embassy to organize a cultural and career festival, expanding opportunities for learning, vocational training and employment for young people.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee's Electronic Information Portal, German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth expressed her delight at Hanoi's rapid development in recent years. She also thanked the city government for creating favorable conditions for German businesses operating in the capital. She also expressed her hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation during her term in Vietnam.

German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth said that 2025 is considered a year with many important milestones, especially the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic relations.

On this occasion, the German Embassy will organize many activities, notably the German Festival, scheduled to take place from October 17 to 19 at the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake and its vicinity. The focus of the Festival is to introduce the achievements of development cooperation between the two countries. In addition to booths introducing culture and cuisine, the festival will also feature music performances and activities for young people. Artist Thomas Anders, former member of the band Modern Talking, will perform on October 25 in Hanoi.

Another notable project launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is the Career Guidance Bus with the mission of "Carrying millions of dreams" on a journey across Vietnam throughout 2025.

The Career Coach provides the Vietnamese public with information about career and training opportunities in Germany, safe and legal pathways to study and work in Germany, language and cultural preparation programs as well as vocational and university education programs in Vietnam according to German standards.

The Career Guidance Bus has started in Hanoi and is traveling through 20 provinces and cities across the country. The project aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration and expand opportunities for young people in Vietnam to access international labor markets.

German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth hopes that the Hanoi city government will create conditions for activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations to take place effectively and successfully.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh welcomed the proposal of the German Embassy in Vietnam, and affirmed that the city is always ready to support and assist the activities of the Embassy in the area, especially events on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On this occasion, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh hopes to continue to receive close cooperation with German localities in promoting investment and trade, connecting the business communities of both sides, enhancing the promotion of cooperation opportunities and potentials and supporting businesses wishing to seek cooperation and investment opportunities.

The city also proposed that the Federal Republic of Germany consider supporting Hanoi's small and medium-sized enterprises, which can take advantage of the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to access the European and German markets and boost the export of Hanoi's strengths such as agricultural products, textiles, footwear, etc. In addition, tourism is also a potential field between the two sides, and cooperation needs to be expanded in the coming time.
