With the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai," the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2024 opened on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of March 7th.
Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - former Vice President of Vietnam , Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le - Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City… along with designers, artists who are ambassadors, and thousands of citizens.
Ho Chi Minh City's Ao Dai Festival sets a Vietnamese record.
Models, artists, and members of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union's Traditional Club showcased colorful and stylish ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) to the opening song "My Beloved City - The City of Ao Dai ."
This is also a special composition by musician Mai Trâm for the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival .
On the opening night, many new ao dai collections were showcased, such as: the Heritage Colors collection (designer Nam Tuyen), Dragon Painting with Starry Accents (Viet Bao), Brilliant Orient (Ngo Nhat Huy), Flowers of the Earth (Viet Hung), and Silk Singing with Lotus Flowers (Trung Dinh);
The collections include: Asian Beauty (Vo Viet Chung), Lady (Do Trinh Hoai Nam), Heritage - Spatial Transformation (Da Thao), Vietnamese Flavors (Duc Vincie), Colors (Brian Vo), Floral Colors (Tuan Hai), Happy Life (Vu Thao Giang)...
In particular, the beauty queens and runners-up showcased national costume designs that had previously been worn in international beauty pageants.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Record Organization established the record for "The most continuously held annual Ao Dai Festival in Vietnam," marking the 10th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival .

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival serves as a cultural bridge to the world.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival has become a widely discussed theme in many events across the country, serving as a cultural bridge between Vietnam in general, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and friends around the world.
"The success of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival over the past 10 years is not only the result of the perseverance, dedication, continuous learning, innovation, and creativity of various departments and units, but also the companionship and support in terms of ideas and resources from organizations and individuals."
We hope that this year's Ao Dai Festival activities will bring the public and visitors impressive and emotional experiences about the beauty of Vietnamese culture.
"I suggest that the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, and the organizing committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival continue to develop and come up with more creative and attractive ideas for the next phase of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival ," Mr. Nguyen Van Dung added.
