A record-breaking bouquet of 108 different flower varieties, a new highlight for Da Lat, the land of a thousand flowers.

Over 30,000 flower stems from 108 varieties were arranged into a giant bouquet in Da Lat, setting a Vietnamese record and spreading a message of creativity and sustainable development in the flower industry.

On December 14th, at the Da Lat City Flower Garden, a floral art installation featuring 108 different flower varieties, setting a Vietnamese record, was officially unveiled to the public.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, with its mild climate year-round, Da Lat has long been known as the "Land of a Thousand Flowers," associated with vibrant landscapes and famous flower festivals.

Creating this bouquet of fresh flowers from Da Lat, which has set a Vietnamese record, not only contributes to the development of a new tourism product to serve the people and tourists, but also serves as an opportunity to promote and honor flowers and the flower-growing profession - the pride of the land and people of Da Lat - Lam Dong.

The leaders of Lam Dong province acknowledged the efforts of the enterprise and affirmed that it is a symbol of solidarity and creativity, contributing to promoting the image of Da Lat as a friendly and hospitable city, and bringing the Da Lat flower brand further into the country and the region.

Over 30,000 flower stems from 108 different varieties were meticulously woven together to create a giant bouquet measuring 12.5 meters long, 8 meters in diameter, and weighing approximately 10,000 kg. This artwork is the result of the tireless work of over 150 employees of Dalat Hasfarm Co., Ltd., who worked continuously for more than 24 hours.

The process also involved direct consultation from Vietnamese floral artist Nguyen Manh Hung and floral expert Tran Thi Thu Le, contributing to a unique artistic imprint that harmoniously blends technique and creativity.

The artwork's special highlight lies in the 108 varieties of flowers. According to the organizers, 108 symbolizes cosmic harmony, as the diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. This image evokes the role of the Sun – an essential energy source for life and for flowers to bloom, thereby honoring the beauty and diversity of Vietnam's fresh flower industry. The artwork also contributes to affirming Da Lat as one of the leading flower centers in Southeast Asia.

Explaining why Dalat Hasfarm dedicated so much time and effort to creating the world's largest bouquet, Mr. Aad Gordijn, General Director of Dalat Hasfarm Co., Ltd., said that first and foremost, the company wanted to affirm Dalat as the most important flower city in Southeast Asia. At the same time, this was also Dalat Hasfarm's way of sending a message to the world about its position as a leading global innovative flower business.

According to Mr. Aad Gordijn, "collaboration for innovation" is the DNA of Dalat Hasfarm. From the first carnations planted 31 years ago to over 800 flower varieties today; from the first export of cut flowers to Japan to a seedling supply network across Asia, Europe, and North America; from a small bamboo greenhouse to a multi-country company system.

"We have always been innovative from the very beginning. But innovation only succeeds with collaboration and cooperation. And the fruits of that spirit are what everyone is about to witness," Aad Gordijn emphasized.

Ms. Vo Luu Lan Uyen, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings), assessed that using 108 flower varieties to create such a large-scale artwork not only demonstrates creativity but also clearly affirms the unit's capacity for research, breeding, and flower production.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Record Organization announced the decision to establish the record. The structure will be on display and open to the public and tourists until December 16th.
