The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province and Ly Son island district are ready to organize many attractive cultural, sports and tourism activities to serve the people and tourists.
According to the People's Committee of Ly Son district, the series of cultural and sports activities to stimulate tourism in Ly Son island district this year has 10 main activities. Of which, on April 24, the Khao le the linh Hoang Sa ceremony will be held at the An Vinh communal house national historical site; the Quang Ngai province women's beach volleyball tournament (from April 25 to 28) at Hang Cau beach; the Tu Linh traditional boat racing festival (April 28); and the exhibition of sea and island cultural heritage at the Hoang Sa Fleet Exhibition House (from April 25 to May 1).
In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province and the People's Committee of Ly Son district will organize the National Paragliding Championship; the National Hot Air Balloon Championship "Flying to Ly Son"; the Artistic Kite Flying Competition; the Ocean Swimming Competition; the Ly Son Cross-Country Race - Following the Footprints of the Frontlines.
Chairwoman of Ly Son District People's Committee Pham Thi Huong said that the series of cultural, sports and tourism events is an opportunity to celebrate major holidays, honor, preserve and promote the unique historical and cultural values of the island's residents; at the same time, introduce and promote the geological heritage, the potential of sea and island tourism of Ly Son to domestic and foreign tourists. This is also an opportunity to promote tourism development, gradually becoming a key economic sector, aiming to concretize the Party's orientations on building Ly Son into a national sea and island tourism center.
Ly Son Island is located 40 minutes by speedboat from Sa Ky Port (Quang Ngai City). Currently, nearly 1,000 tourists visit the island every day. The Port Management Board and Quang Ngai Inland Waterways Port Authority have maintained 8 speedboat trips from Sa Ky Port to Ly Son Island and vice versa to serve the people and tourists. It is expected that during the days of cultural and tourism events on the island, the number of trips will be increased.
