From the morning of August 29, on the streets where the parade and marching formations passed, people gathered in large numbers, lining up to reserve their seats until tomorrow morning. Pieces of canvas and plastic mats were spread out, on which there was enough drinking water, food and, of course, raincoats and umbrellas because the weather during the day would be affected by a tropical depression, with the possibility of rain.
The sidewalk section at the intersection of Nguyen Thai Hoc and Hung Vuong is almost full. This is considered the best place to watch the parade. Each mat spread out will be a seat for the whole family or a group of friends.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from noon today until 3 o'clock next day, there will be thunderstorms in the wards of Phuc Loi, Long Bien, Hong Ha, Linh Nam, Vinh Hung, Vinh Tuy, Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Cua Nam, Kim Lien of Hanoi .... To prepare for this situation, many people have brought raincoats and umbrellas to cover themselves carefully.
To serve the people watching the parade, many tents were set up. When it was sunny, people went into the tents to rest, but still left mats and tarpaulins to reserve their seats "to be sure".
The Hanoi People's Committee agreed with the Capital Command to deploy and install 11 field tents at 5 public locations to serve people visiting the A80 parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.
11 temporary tents were set up at 5 locations: Tay Son Flower Garden (Hoan Kiem Ward); Le Truc Flower Garden (Ba Dinh Ward); Nui Truc - Kim Ma intersection (Giang Vo Ward); Hanoi Railway Station (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward); area opposite 14B Le Truc (Ba Dinh Ward).
The tents, nearly 100 square meters wide, are enough for people to rest comfortably while waiting. Mr. Tran Xuan Hoa (Ha Dong ward) said that he and his two sons and his son's friend went to Tay Son flower garden on Trang Thi street to watch. He looked up the schedules of the blocks and found that Trang Thi street would have enough blocks for the Army, Police, militia, and foreign delegations. "It's not too difficult to find a place to watch in this area. We came this morning and there was still a place to line up," said Mr. Hoa.
Among those who arrived early to wait for a seat to watch the rehearsal, there were many people from far away provinces who also took buses and trains to Hanoi with excitement and anticipation.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (67 years old) from Yen Lap commune ( Phu Tho ) came to Hanoi a few days ago and stayed at an acquaintance's house. This morning, she went to Nguyen Thai Hoc street at 5am. For her, watching this parade is the only time in her life. "I'm old, in 10 years I'm not sure I'll be healthy enough to watch like this, so my children and grandchildren encouraged me to come down to watch the parade and also take a chance to visit Hanoi," Ms. Yen shared.
