• Ninh Thuan grapes take root in Khanh Hung

Mr. Pham Cong Ben, owner of Tam Ben Vineyard (Xom Lam hamlet, Hiep Thanh ward), said that he initially bought 10 grapevine saplings imported from South Korea. During the planting process, he taught himself techniques online, from grafting and flower induction to propagation.

To date, the vineyard has grown to approximately 150 vines with many varieties such as Korean milk grapes, peony, ruby, black grapes, etc., on an area of nearly 900 m². All the vines were grafted and propagated by him from mother plants that had adapted to the local climate.

Mr. and Mrs. Pham Cong Ben (Xom Lam hamlet, Hiep Thanh ward) tend to their vineyard.

While many people choose to grow grapes in greenhouses to limit pests and diseases and reduce the impact of weather, Mr. Ben's family chose to grow them entirely outdoors. This method helps reduce investment costs and takes advantage of the long sunny days in the South, but it requires very high-level care techniques; during the rainy season, they only nurture the plants, and only in the dry season do they bear fruit to ensure yield.

Based on the success of the model, Mr. Pham Cong Ben's family continued to plant more than 100 grafted saplings to expand the garden, creating a space to attract visitors.
