Training, disseminating information, and providing guidance to influential figures in ethnic minority communities.

Contributing to changing people's mindset and way of doing things.

Reputable individuals are not only respected by their fellow villagers for their knowledge and personal prestige, but also for their practical actions that directly benefit the community. They become "reliable bridges" between the Party, the government, and the people, serving as shining examples for the villagers to follow. A prime example is village elder Ka Phin, a Raglai man in Song Luy commune, who for nearly 20 years has persistently campaigned for his people to abandon outdated customs, practice family planning, and send their children to school, with many of them going on to university. Through his perseverance and commitment to "matching words with actions," he has not only changed the mindset and practices of the community but also instilled aspirations for self-improvement in the younger generation.

Mr. Thach Sa Phieu, a Cham man from Lien Huong commune, has always been actively connecting the government with the people, especially in the prevention and control of social evils and maintaining security and order in the villages. For the villagers, he is a reliable support, helping them feel secure and agree to implement the State's policies. In addition, many other respected individuals are quietly contributing to the community. They participate in mediating conflicts, guiding villagers in developing production, preserving traditional cultural identity, and actively promoting the prevention and control of outdated customs and superstitions.

Commitment, responsibility, and pride

According to representatives from the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion, influential figures serve as a spiritual anchor, contributing to the strengthening of national unity. Caring for them and implementing policies fully and promptly is not only a recognition but also a motivation for them to continue playing a pioneering role in mobilizing their communities to develop the economy and maintain political security in the locality. Recently, during study tours to the Southwest region, the delegation of influential figures from the Southeast region of the province absorbed many good models on building cultural families, poverty reduction, and preventing and combating social evils. Ms. Huynh Thi Rung, an influential figure of the Cham people in Hai Ninh commune, emotionally shared: “Through this trip, I have come to understand even more deeply the value of equality and respect in the Party and State's ethnic policies. Despite being of different ethnic groups and regions, we all share a common heart directed towards the Fatherland, learning from and following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh.”

Reputable individuals not only contribute to socio -economic development but also actively participate in the nationwide movement to protect national security. Thanks to their support, many effective models have been replicated, such as: "Security Lighting," "Security Cameras," "Culturally-Organized, Self-Governing Clans," "Street Security and Order Protection Task Forces," "Drug-Prevention Residential Areas," etc., contributing to maintaining peace in villages and hamlets, fostering trust and consensus among the people.

In the coming period, Lam Dong will continue to promote the role of influential individuals through attention, encouragement, and full implementation of policies; at the same time, coordinating to closely monitor the situation, advising on timely handling, and preventing the emergence of "hot spots". Influential individuals will also be given opportunities to participate in social monitoring and criticism, contributing to strengthening the grassroots political system.
