Ancient towns in China have entrance fees, while others charge fees based on the attractions visited. The money collected is used to preserve and restore the buildings in the town. Visitors can buy tickets on travel service applications, agencies, and websites. If you go on a tour, the ticket price is included in the tour price.
Phoenix Ancient Town, Hunan Province
This is a small town located in Fenghuang County, on the Tuo River in the west of Hunan Province. The area of this place is about 10 square kilometers. The ancient town has existed for more than 1,300 years.
Ticket prices for the Old Quarter are divided into different packages. The 248 yuan (nearly 850,000 VND) package includes 11 top attractions (9 inside the town and 2 outside). Transportation in Hunan Province is not convenient due to the mountainous terrain. The fastest and safest way is to take the shuttle bus from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang, which runs three times a day. West Water Town, Zhejiang
About 80 km from Shanghai Xitang Water Town, Zhejiang Province, has nine rivers flowing through it. The riverbanks are connected by more than 100 bridges. The town dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770 to 221 BC). The bridges, ancient buildings reflected on the water at dawn and dusk, and fishing boats with sparkling lights at night make Xitang known as "beautiful as a picture" or "a fairyland". Tickets to visit 11 scenic spots are 95 yuan (320,000 VND) for adults and 50 yuan (170,000 VND) for children from 1.2 m to 1.5 m. Children under 1.2 m are free. Tickets to visit after 5 pm are 50 yuan (only sold from April to October every year).

Lijiang Ancient Town, Yunnan
The ancient town of Lijiang has a history of over 800 years, built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. Willow trees are planted in front of the houses, and a stream flows through them. The center is Four-Fang Street, famous for its waterways and bridges, so it is also called "Venice of the East".

Lijiang has 354 bridges (an average of 93 bridges per square kilometer) spanning the Yuhe River system within the city. The most famous bridges are the Dashi, Nanmen, Mayan, and Renshou bridges, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Hongcun Ancient Village, Anhui
The ancient village of Hongcun lies at the foot of Mount Huangshan in Anhui Province. Many of the houses built during the Ming and Qing dynasties here are considered "the best preserved in China," according to Sohu . Most of the village area was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 2000.
Some of the suggested experiences include: visiting ancient courtyards built in ancient times, walking through the Chinese countryside, and buying handmade souvenirs and country products.
The best time to visit is March-April to see the sea of flowers blooming everywhere and November to see the yellow leaves. The entrance fee is 104 yuan (355,000 VND), opening hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, Jiangsu
About an hour's drive from Shanghai, in Jiangsu province, Zhouzhuang is among the top 10 most beautiful towns in the world according to CNN . The highlight of this place is the 14 ancient stone bridges, built during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.

Zhouzhuang does not have an airport, but visitors can fly to Shanghai Hongqiao or Shanghai Pudong, Hangzhou Xiaoshan and then take a bus. From Hangzhou, visitors can take a train to Jiaxing Station, then take a bus to Zhouzhuang. There are many bus routes from Shanghai. Photo: Wall here
