Large-scale projects

The Hue International General Hospital is considered a significant highlight in the healthcare sector. With a total investment of approximately 400 billion VND and a capacity of 212 beds, the hospital is being developed with a modern and comprehensive approach to infrastructure, equipment, and management models, aiming to provide high-quality medical examination and treatment services according to international standards.

The inauguration and operation of the hospital not only helps alleviate the burden on public healthcare facilities, which are already under considerable pressure, but also meets the increasingly diverse and high-quality healthcare needs of people both within and outside the region. In the context of the Central region frequently facing natural disasters and climate change, strengthening healthcare capacity, especially high-quality healthcare, is of great practical significance.

Furthermore, this project is also linked to the strategic direction of making Hue a national center for specialized medical care, combined with the development of medical tourism , a direction that is consistent with the advantages of a highly qualified medical staff, advanced and modern techniques, as well as the cultural and historical values and clean living environment of the ancient capital of Hue.

In the field of transportation, the commencement of the project to expand the North-South Expressway eastward, specifically the Cam Lo - La Son section, is of particular importance, not only for Hue but also for the entire Central region. The expressway, approximately 98.35 km long and with four lanes, will play a crucial role in connecting Quang Tri province and Hue city, and will also link with existing and ongoing expressway sections on the North-South axis.

According to the Department of Construction, upon completion, the project will contribute to completing the national arterial transport axis, shortening travel time, reducing pressure on National Highway 1A, and improving the capacity for transporting goods and passengers. More importantly, this expressway will open up new development opportunities for localities along the route, creating conditions to attract investment and develop industrial zones, logistics, tourism, and services.

The project to expand the North-South Expressway (eastern section), specifically the Cam Lo - La Son segment, plays a crucial role in connecting Quang Tri province and Hue city.

Urban development linked to social welfare.

Another notable highlight in this series of projects is the group of social housing and residential areas, clearly demonstrating the city's orientation towards urban development linked to social welfare. In the context of increasingly rapid urbanization, the need for housing, especially for low-income earners, workers, and laborers, is becoming a pressing issue.

Accordingly, the social housing project - the OXH2 high-rise apartment building, part of the Thuy Van Complex Phase 2, covers an area of over 20,000m², with approximately 684 apartments and a total investment of about 400 billion VND. Upon completion, it will significantly contribute to improving the city's social housing stock. The project will not only help many families realize their dream of owning a home but also contribute to the formation of new, integrated, and civilized urban areas.

Similarly, the social housing project in the eastern urban area of Thuy Duong - Thuan An road, with a scale of approximately 600 apartments and a total investment of about 634 billion VND, is expected to solve the housing problem for low-income earners, while promoting the sustainable development of the An Van Duong New Urban Area - a strategic new urban space of Hue city. In addition, the residential area project on Dao Tan - Tran Thai Tong road, with a total investment of nearly 81 billion VND, although not large in scale, is significant in beautifying and developing the urban space in the city center and meeting the needs for housing, investment, and business, contributing to completing the urban landscape of Hue in a modern and synchronized direction.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang affirmed that these are not just "celebratory projects" in a formal sense, but key projects directly linked to the goal of sustainable development, improving the quality of life for the people and creating momentum for the city's growth in the new phase. The selection of projects for commencement and inauguration was carefully considered, ensuring their widespread impact, long-term effectiveness, and alignment with the city's planning and development strategy.
