Foreign players demonstrate their strength.
The 13 foreign cyclists participating in the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup have all demonstrated their capabilities, currently holding prestigious titles including the yellow jersey, the green jersey, and the polka-dot jersey.

With the advantage gained in the Hai Van Pass stage from Hue to Da Nang, Belarusian cyclist Yarash Uladzislau, competing for Ho Chi Minh City New Group, took the yellow jersey. He then held this title until the end of stage 23, which took place yesterday, April 28th. With a lead of 1 minute and 01 second over second-placed Sergei Kulikov (Loc Troi An Giang Group), Yarash Uladzislau is highly likely to successfully defend his overall yellow jersey title when he finishes in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30th. This is the most prestigious jersey of the race, awarded to the cyclist with the shortest total race time after 25 stages.
In the green jersey – the sprint king – the Belarusian rider Marchuk Dzianis (Kenda Dong Nai Club) excelled with 5 stage wins. With more than double the points of the second-placed rider, Pawel Szostka (Military Region 7), Marchuk Dzianis secured the overall green jersey. The polka-dot jersey – the king of the mountains – was also decided when Rwandan rider Mugisha Moise (TP.HCM Vinama) won both important mountain passes, Khanh Le and Giang Ly. Had it not suffered a bike breakdown on the Hai Van pass earlier, Mugisha Moise would also have been a strong contender for the yellow jersey. Other foreign riders such as Sergei Kulikov (Russia, Loc Troi An Giang Group team), Pierantozzi Lucio (Italy, Vo Dac Dong Nai team), and Chalapud Eduardo (Colombia, Ho Chi Minh City Police team) were also among the top 5 riders in the overall individual standings.
Domestic players make their mark.
Despite the presence of high-quality foreign cyclists, Vietnamese domestic cyclists also demonstrated their abilities. The most outstanding was Phạm Lê Xuân Lộc (Military Region 7). After winning the white jersey for the best young rider for four consecutive seasons, Xuân Lộc was no longer eligible to compete in the youth category this year. The soldier immediately demonstrated his progress by winning the orange jersey for the best-performing Vietnamese rider. With his all-around abilities, especially his strong climbing skills, and his energetic and dedicated performance, he is considered the most complete cyclist in Vietnam currently.
Another Vietnamese cyclist who received much praise was Dang Thanh Duoc ( Hanoi Club). Without strong teammates to support him, Duoc was forced to "fend for himself," refusing to chase but instead attacking aggressively to seek opportunities. Thanks to this, he is the only Vietnamese cyclist to win two stages in the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup.
20-year-old cyclist Tran Trong Phuc (Vo Dac Dong Nai Club) also demonstrated his ability by winning the white jersey – the best young cyclist. The long race, with many challenging mountain stages, caused most young cyclists to drop out. However, he remained steadfast, rightfully earning the title of best young cyclist at this year's Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup.
The group of Vietnamese riders who achieved high rankings in the overall standings also included talented individuals such as Nguyen Hoang Sang (Ho Chi Minh City Police), Nguyen Thang (Ho Chi Minh City Vinama), Quang Van Cuong (Ho Chi Minh City Police), and Nguyen Minh Thien (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long).
Today, April 29th, the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup held its 24th stage, from Dao Thanh Ward (Dong Thap Province) to Tay Ninh Province, covering a distance of 146 km.
