(NLDO) - "Nameless bread", "arrogant bread", "throwaway noodles" are "unique" dishes that tourists really want to enjoy when coming to the coastal city of Vung Tau, but not everyone is "lucky enough" to eat them.

The compact bakery, nestled in the middle of a crowded street on the corner of Do Chieu - Ly Thuong Kiet, is no longer strange to the people of Vung Tau City and is a favorite dish of many people, including tourists visiting for the first time.

The bakery is not called "nameless bread" because it has no sign or house number, but when asking the locals, almost everyone knows about it, so from then on, people gave the shop a very "unique" name, "nameless bread".

To buy a loaf of bread, customers have to queue from 15 to 30 minutes.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, a resident of Vung Tau City, said she has been eating banh mi here since she was a child. The shop has been around for decades, witnessing the ups and downs of the tourist city. Although the shop has been renovated many times, there were times when it was closed, but then it reopened and the special thing is that the taste has not changed since then. From the fragrant, rich sauce to the char siu, the spices are also very unique, making customers who eat it once remember it forever and want to eat it again.

According to Ms. Huyen, customers who come to buy goods must park their vehicles, line up and maintain order, otherwise they will receive "unfriendly" looks from the shop owner.

Bread with signature sauce, char siu, pate and many other vegetables

Each loaf of bread costs 20,000 VND and is only sold in the evening, but if you want to eat it, you have to wait in line for at least 15 to 30 minutes to get your turn, and if you are not quick, the shop will run out of bread after 9 pm.

Also on Do Chieu Street, another snack shop that is equally "unique" is the green bean fried dough shop. It is not for nothing that locals and tourists call this shop "arrogant fried dough".

Cakes are made on site and must be ordered in advance.

Previously, the banh tieu shop was located at 43 Do Chieu but has now moved to another alley on the same street. The shop has existed for more than 30 years, only selling in the afternoon but not everyone who wants to eat can buy it, because in front of the fried banh tieu cart there is always a sign "Sold out". The number of banh tieu that the shop is making has been ordered in advance and every day the shop only makes enough for the number of customers who have pre-ordered, almost no extra.
"This is the most luxurious banh tieu shop I've ever seen" - Mr. Trinh Hoang Anh said after coming here many times to buy and always leaving empty-handed.

Golden green bean cake filling, fatty, fragrant, unforgettable flavor

Green bean cakes are sold everywhere in Vung Tau, however, if you have enjoyed the cakes here once, it is difficult to eat them elsewhere because the balls of green bean or golden egg custard paste have an unforgettable fatty flavor. The green beans are steamed and mashed beforehand to achieve a moderate smoothness, when bitten, you can feel the characteristic fatty, fatty flavor.

Another dish that tourists have to queue up to eat is Nghiep Ky tossed noodles on Bacu Street, Vung Tau City.

The reason this dish is called tossed noodles is because of the unique way of preparing it: the owner both boils the noodles and tosses them up, the even noodles are put into a specialized racket, each time the noodles are dipped into the pot of boiling water, the owner will toss the noodles up high and then let them fall back down very skillfully.

The owner said that this noodle dish is prepared in the traditional Chinese way. In particular, the fresh noodles are homemade with the main ingredients being eggs and flour, not too chewy like dry noodles or instant noodles. The broth is made from stewed bones and young ribs, simmered for many hours. When pouring the broth into the bowl of noodles, you will see the bowl of clear water, without a thick layer of fat like other types of noodles.

In addition to noodles, the restaurant also sells hu tieu and wonton for customers to choose from. Nghiep Ky restaurant opens twice a day, from 6am to 1pm and from 4pm to 11pm. In the afternoon, especially on weekends, the restaurant is very crowded, visitors who want to enjoy the noodles often have to wait a while for their turn.
