Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan is taking an online course on sales skills.
Thirty years ago, Hoang Anh Tuan, from residential area 2, Tan Phong town (Quang Xuong district), was born into a family filled with joy. However, he was unfortunate to be born with asphyxiation, which affected his motor nerves. After a persistent and dedicated rehabilitation process, he was only able to sit in a chair at the age of three, and took his first steps at 13. Furthermore, Tuan had great difficulty speaking. Whenever he spoke, he would tilt his head back or twist his head, struggling to pronounce each word. Fortunately, with normal intelligence, he was able to attend school like his peers. Under the dedicated guidance of his teachers, he learned to read, write, and perform simple calculations. In particular, his parents' computer sparked his love and passion for computer science.
“March 8th, 2024 is a very meaningful day in my life because I was selected as one of 100 members in the province to receive support in selling goods to generate income from the Project to Support and Create Startup Spaces for People with Disabilities. The project, implemented by Bell Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company in collaboration with the Association of People with Disabilities under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association for the Protection of Disabled, Orphans, and Children's Rights, has helped me earn an income as I turn 29,” Tuan shared.
With a strong desire to improve, Tuan constantly strives to perfect himself. Every week, he attends three online sales training sessions. However, due to his lack of facial expression and difficulty speaking, he cannot livestream sales and can only post advertisements on social media platforms like Facebook. Through enthusiastic advice to each customer about products and their usage, such as laundry detergent, floor cleaner, and dishwashing liquid, Tuan has gained many online and in-person orders. To facilitate his sales, his parents deliver the goods to customers. Currently, Tuan earns between 2 and 3 million VND per month.
That is also the spirit of overcoming difficulties and striving for success of the family of Mr. Le Quang Man and Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen in Ly Yen neighborhood, Quan Lao town (Yen Dinh). In our conversation, Ms. Luyen shared that at the age of one, after a high fever, she became completely paralyzed on the left side of her body. Her husband, on the other hand, has a disability, with both legs atrophied since the age of seven due to complications from a cold. Sharing similar circumstances, they empathized with each other, shared their experiences, and with sincere love, decided to tie the knot in 2016.

Starting a business is difficult enough for an average person, but for people with disabilities like Mr. and Mrs. Luyen, the hardship is multiplied many times over. The question of how to achieve a stable life and provide the best care for their child was always on Mrs. Luyen's and her husband's minds. Therefore, after getting married, after consulting with many relatives and finding it suitable for their health and circumstances, Mrs. Luyen and her husband boldly borrowed 50 million VND to open a household goods business at home. After two years, Mr. Man and Mrs. Luyen had repaid the debt and accumulated a certain amount of capital. However, the business required a lot of goods transportation, and Mrs. Luyen and her husband had difficulty commuting, so in 2018, they decided to switch to a telecommunications service business. With their eagerness to learn and their hard work, Mrs. Luyen and her husband's business became increasingly successful. With a stable income, they were able to build a spacious house. At the same time, it creates regular employment for one worker with an income of approximately 5-6 million VND/month and 100 online collaborators, including 20 people with disabilities.
Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan and the couple Mr. Le Quang Man and Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen are exemplary figures among the 217,000 people with disabilities in the province who have overcome adversity to achieve success. Through their extraordinary willpower, the care and support of all levels of government, relevant agencies, and the community, people with disabilities have not only overcome adversity, risen in life, and integrated into society, but have also become sources of inspiration, bringing positive value to society.
