What does the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE that will be sold in Vietnam have?

There are many rumors that Nissan is planning to introduce the new generation 7-seat SUV X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE in the Southeast Asian market by the end of 2025.

Notably, the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE will be imported completely from Japan, marking the return of the X-Trail in Southeast Asia with advanced transmission technology. The Nissan X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE is a C-segment SUV, competing directly with the Honda CR-V.

The car is equipped with a series hybrid powertrain, in which the gasoline engine only acts as an electricity generator, not directly transmitting power to the wheels. Specifically, the 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine produces 142 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, charging the batteries for two electric motors located on the front and rear axles.

Two electric motors will take on all the transmission tasks, forming the all-wheel drive system (e-4ORCE): the front motor code BM46 for 203 horsepower, 330 Nm torque; the rear motor MM48 for 135 horsepower, 195 Nm torque.

With this configuration, Nissan affirms that the X-Trail will bring a smooth driving experience like an electric car, while maintaining fuel economy and stability on many terrain conditions. The upcoming model belongs to the fourth generation (code T33) of the X-Trail line. Previously, the T30, T31 and T32 generations were launched globally in 2000, 2007 and 2013 respectively.

The T33 version was first introduced in the US in 2020 under the name Nissan Rogue, then available in markets such as Australia and Japan from 2022. While the US and Australian versions are equipped with traditional internal combustion engines, the e-POWER e-4ORCE version in Japan will be the configuration that Nissan brings to Thailand.

In terms of dimensions, the new generation X-Trail is 4,660 mm long, 1,840 mm wide, 1,720 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,706 mm, a slight increase compared to the previous generation. The car is designed with a 7-seat configuration (3 rows of seats), meeting the needs of family use or high-end services.

X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE has a modern comfort system with multi-layer LED headlights, 4-wheel drive with multiple driving modes, smart locks for all 4 doors, electric tailgate and foot sensor to open the trunk hands-free. Remote vehicle start feature is also equipped.

The car's interior space stands out with a series of high-end equipment such as: 10.8-inch head-up display (HUD), 12.3-inch digital dashboard, 9-inch central entertainment screen, BOSE sound system, wireless charging and three-zone automatic air conditioning.

All rows of seats are equipped with heating, improving comfort in cold weather conditions. In terms of safety, the car has the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package, including features: automatic emergency braking, front and rear collision warning, pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and 360-degree panoramic camera.

In particular, the semi-autonomous driving support feature ProPILOT Assist also appears, allowing the car to automatically adjust speed and keep lane in certain conditions. If launched as planned, the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER e-4ORCE will become one of the few 7-seat SUVs equipped with a serial hybrid powertrain in the Thai market in 2025.

Being imported completely from Japan and equipped with exclusive technology helps this model differentiate itself from competitors in the same segment, which are still using parallel hybrid systems or pure internal combustion engines.
