Typhoon No. 3 made landfall in Quang Ninh province, causing significant damage to the tourism industry and disrupting production and business activities. Immediately after the typhoon passed, travel agencies and tourism businesses are making efforts to overcome the consequences of the storm and quickly restore tourism activities to normal.

Leaders of the Department of Tourism visited and encouraged tourism businesses affected by Typhoon No. 3.

Tuan Chau International Passenger Port is one of the bustling tourist destinations, attracting both domestic and international visitors. However, just a few hours after Typhoon No. 3 swept through, the entire port area suffered severe damage. At Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, 23 passenger ships sank, and many others sustained minor damage, including roofs being blown off; the infrastructure of offices and reception areas of businesses at the port was also damaged.

Currently, businesses are working to mitigate the damage so that tourism activities can return to normal as soon as possible. For ships that were sunk or severely damaged, it will take a long time and significant costs for owners to restore them. Mr. Tran Van Hong, Chairman of the Ha Long Tourist Boat Association, said: The association currently has 490 ships, and Typhoon No. 3 caused significant damage to many Ha Long tourist boats. After the storm, companies and businesses have urgently repaired their vessels to resume operations for tourists and accommodation in Ha Long Bay. The repair work for sunken ships is facing difficulties because repair facilities are overloaded. The association is making efforts to contact salvage units to quickly find a plan to salvage the ships and bring them to repair yards. The association hopes that banks will provide more loan support policies for ships severely affected by Typhoon No. 3 so that owners can stabilize and resume business as soon as possible. To date, the Ha Long Bay Tourist Boat Association has approximately 80% of its boats basically repaired and cleaned up after the storm, ready to welcome tourists back to the bay.

Authorities are carrying out a comprehensive cleanup campaign on many streets in Bai Chay ward, Ha Long City.

Citadines is one of the leading 5-star hotels attracting many domestic and international tourists to stay and relax in Bai Chay ward (Ha Long City). Before Typhoon No. 3 made landfall, despite implementing a series of disaster response measures, Citadines Hotel still suffered heavy damage to its infrastructure due to the destructive power of the super typhoon. The storm caused many glass windows on the second and third floors of the Citadines building to shatter; about 50% of the trees in the hotel area were uprooted; and the electricity and water systems were disrupted. Several tours were also interrupted due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3. Immediately after the storm passed, the business promptly worked to repair the damage so that tourism operations could return to normal as soon as possible.

Mr. Jonathan Lai, General Manager of Citadines Marina Halong, said: "Immediately after Typhoon No. 3 ended, our unit tried to coordinate with forces to restore phone and internet signals to ensure everyone could communicate with the outside world. Taking advantage of the current lull in rain, we are mobilizing manpower and machinery to clean up the grounds, lobby, and rooms to be ready to welcome tourists back. Although the typhoon left behind many difficulties, we believe that with the involvement of local leaders, along with the people and businesses, everything will soon be restored so that tourists can once again admire the beauty of this coastal city of heritage."

Typhoon No. 3 made landfall in Quang Ninh, causing severe damage, with the tourism industry suffering particularly devastating consequences. According to preliminary statistics, most accommodation establishments on the shore in Ha Long City suffered damage, including broken windows and roof tiles on villas; strong winds caused ceilings to collapse and damaged furniture in guest rooms, reception areas, restaurants, bars, and auxiliary areas. The most severe damage occurred in Ha Long City and several other localities: Van Don, Cam Pha, and Co To. Several key tourist attractions in Ha Long City, such as the Quang Ninh Museum, the Planning and Exhibition Center, the Sunworld amusement park, and the Tuan Chau tourist area, suffered significant damage to their infrastructure.
