Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung chaired a delegation of the Ministry of Construction to inspect the construction site of the North-South Expressway, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon section, through Binh Dinh province.
Progress is guaranteed
According to Project Management Board 85, contractors are mobilizing 86 construction teams with 520 pieces of equipment and 790 personnel at the construction site. The main items such as grade 1 crushed stone mix reached 72%; reinforced crushed stone mix reached 64%; R25 asphalt concrete reached 59%; C19 reached 46%. In addition, 73 civil underpasses and 117/120 on-site culvert locations have been constructed.
Cumulative output to date is more than 5,400 billion VND, reaching nearly 72% of the contract, 0.98% faster than the approved schedule. The capital disbursement progress in 2025 is currently guaranteed and expected to be completed as planned.
A representative of Truong Son Construction Corporation - the contractor of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon Expressway Package 11XL, said that the unit encountered many difficulties in the construction of this package. In particular, in the construction area of natural forest from Km 18+650 - Km 21+100 (bordering Hoai An and Phu My districts), there are 2.6 million m3 of soil and rock that need to be cleared and used for crushed stone mix.
Truong Son Construction Corporation only received the handover of the site for construction on November 30, 2024, 8 months behind schedule due to the policy of changing the purpose of forest use. The site handover was in the middle of the rainy season, and by the end of February 2025, the rainy season in the area will end, and the contractor will be able to start construction simultaneously.
Guaranteed to be open by August 19
Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung highly appreciated the investor and contractor for their drastic direction and concentration of human resources and construction machinery to help the project achieve its current volume. However, the units must not be subjective or negligent. If they have done well, they must do even better, working "3 shifts, 4 shifts" in accordance with the Prime Minister 's direction to increase production.
"The deadline has been set, the investor must send people to the construction site, closely monitor the construction process, ensure that contractors have enough resources to continue to speed up the project; control the quality of the project well, do not trade progress for quality. Ensure the route is opened by August 19", the leader of the Ministry of Construction requested.
Currently, the project still has some contractors behind schedule. The Deputy Minister requested Project Management Board 85 to review and transfer the workload to contractors who do better to ensure the project finishes on schedule.
The North-South Expressway, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon section, has a total length of more than 70km, passing through Binh Dinh province. The total investment is more than 12,400 billion VND.
The project started on January 1, 2023, and the completion date according to the adjusted schedule is September 30, 2025.
