Local legend tells of a little girl who was lost in the woods for many years. Five years later, the locals saw her return. However, the girl had not grown up and had no memory of what had happened.
Hoia Baciu is also linked to the mysterious disappearance of a shepherd and 200 sheep. The man led his flock into the woods and never returned. No remains or anything else was ever found.
In addition, the Tour in Romania information page also said that this forest has a strange vegetation. The trees bend and twist into scary shapes. Notably, all the trees here rotate clockwise.

However, in recent decades, this place has often been referred to by the creepy name “suicide forest” (Jisatsu no Mori). Authorities have discovered many cases of people committing suicide here.
Over the past 70 years, about 500 bodies of people who entered the forest to commit suicide have been discovered, making this area the second most popular suicide spot in the world.
This forced authorities to post notices in multiple languages in different areas of the forest to encourage desperate people to seek help before committing regrettable acts.

Another reason why Aokigahara forest is so scary is that all modern technology and devices such as compasses and cell phones lose signal when in the forest.
In fact, the cause of this phenomenon comes from the fact that the forest has a lot of magnetic iron created by the volcanic soil in the area.
Dering Woods
Located about 3km from Pluckley village, Kent, England, Dering Woods is also known as "the screaming forest". According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Pluckley is the most "haunted" village in England.
The reason this village is named in the above record is because of the mysterious and inexplicable sounds that come from the nearby Dering Woods day and night. Some witnesses said that when they went deeper into the forest, they heard terrifying, haunting screams.
Sometimes they sensed footsteps and whispers from within the forest on dark, foggy days.

Local legends say that the terrifying screams were made by a traveler who was murdered in the 18th century. The soul of the traveler could not rest in peace because of his great resentment. Therefore, for many years, the ghost haunted the forest and caused the terrifying sound.
However, another theory suggests that the mysterious screams in Dering Woods are caused by the souls of the unfortunate victims of the 1948 massacre. At that time, 20 people were murdered in the forest.
The creepy stories about mysterious sounds in Dering Woods forest make many people afraid to set foot here and turn the forest into one of the most mysterious and scary places in the world.
