A place that connects charitable hearts.

Staff at the Da Bac Regional Health Center distribute free meals to patients in difficult circumstances.

Da Bac is a mountainous commune where the lives of ethnic minority people are still fraught with difficulties. Whenever illness requires hospitalization, the financial burden weighs heavily on poor families. Understanding this plight, the charitable movement at the Da Bac Regional Health Center has been initiated and sustained over the years. This humanitarian journey is linked to the name of Ms. Nguyen Vu Quynh Nhu – a dedicated nurse and head of the Social Work team at the center. Coming from a poor rural background, Ms. Quynh Nhu always empathizes with those less fortunate, considering the suffering of patients as her own.

Since the historic floods of 2017, Ms. Quynh Nhu has been actively involved in mobilizing and connecting resources to provide emergency support for hospitalized patients. Since then, she has become a steadfast bridge between philanthropists and those less fortunate. From organizing fundraising for the "Charity Porridge" program, which provides free meals on a regular basis, to raising tens of millions of dong to support many patients suffering from serious illnesses and severe accidents in the local area. Notably, she also mobilizes scholarships, Tet gifts, and monthly living expenses for orphaned students to help them continue their education. For example, during the Lunar New Year of 2026, she mobilized businesses and philanthropists to donate over 100 gifts to disadvantaged students, totaling 50 million dong. She also connected with and helped Dinh Anh Van, a child with leukemia in Rang hamlet, Cao Son commune, who received 34.8 million dong in support. Luong Phuc Nhan, a child from Quy Duc commune born without both eyes, received 260 million VND in support...

For many years, Ms. Nguyen Vu Quynh Nhu has consistently been awarded the title of outstanding grassroots emulation soldier and Party member who has excellently fulfilled her duties. She has also been honored with a commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, recognizing her as an exemplary figure in patriotic emulation movements, strongly spreading the spirit of living beautifully for the community. Even more touching is that Ms. Quynh Nhu used her reward money to buy two wheelchairs for patients at the Da Bac Regional Medical Center.

The dedication of Ms. Quynh Nhu and the Social Work Team has brought happiness and warmth to many patients. While receiving treatment at the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, patient Bui Thi Loi, residing in Nuoc Moc hamlet, Duc Nhan commune, couldn't hide her emotions upon receiving timely support from benefactors at the center. Holding a warm, heartfelt meal in her hands, Ms. Loi emotionally shared that the care and encouragement, both material and spiritual, from the doctors, nurses, and benefactors has given her the strength to overcome her illness.

Continuing this spirit, humanitarian activities and support at the Da Bac Regional Health Center have become increasingly widespread and in-depth. In the first five months of 2026, the center's social work team connected with and received thousands of charitable meals from clubs and charitable organizations inside and outside the province. Specifically, the center received 2,500 servings of sticky rice and porridge from the Hoa Binh Charity Club; 2,200 servings from the Hanoi Charity Group; and hundreds of servings of rice, steamed buns, pork rolls, and fresh milk from the Patient Support Club. In addition, Anh Tu Co., Ltd. (Hien Luong Restaurant in Da Bac) and the Hoa Binh Heart Connection Club jointly contributed thousands of servings of rice, chicken noodle soup, fresh oranges, and dozens of summer blankets. These meals and gifts, imbued with compassion, are delivered directly to patients on fixed days of the week and on the 15th and 1st days of the lunar month, helping them to focus on their treatment.

Evaluating the movement, the Board of Directors of the Da Bac Regional Health Center affirmed that this activity has profound humanitarian significance, not only receiving the support and consensus of all medical staff but also winning the trust and affection of the people of all ethnic groups in the area. These bowls of porridge and meals of compassion in the highlands of Da Bac have contributed to further enhancing the tradition of "mutual support" of the nation, transforming this place into a second home full of love and affection.
