V-League 2025 - 2026 has 2 teams named TP.HCM
The V-League 2025 - 2026 draw took place on the afternoon of July 14 in Hanoi . Here, two new names were introduced to the public, namely Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club and Ho Chi Minh City Police.
Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club, formerly Becamex Binh Duong . Binh Duong won the V-League in 2007, 2008, 2014, 2015 and is the second most traditional team in the tournament (after Hanoi Club with 6 V-League victories).

After Binh Duong province merged with Ba Ria - Vung Tau and became a part of Ho Chi Minh City, the management board of Becamex Binh Duong Club sent a document to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) to request a name change to Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club. After being approved by both VFF and VPF, the team took on a new name, officially participating in the V-League this season with the name Becamex Ho Chi Minh City. The team will continue to compete at Go Dau Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, formerly known as Ho Chi Minh City Club, is a team nicknamed "Red Battleship" that will compete in the V-League with a new name, promising to create an exciting derby with the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN Club). The Ho Chi Minh City Police Club used to be a big name in the V-League, creating fierce competitions with the CAHN Club, Viettel Sports Club, Ho Chi Minh City Customs, and the General Department of Railways in the A1 national championship. Most likely, the leadership, coaching staff, and players of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Team will change.
Thus, for the first time in 3 years, Ho Chi Minh City football will participate in V-League with 2 representatives. The most recent period when Ho Chi Minh City had 2 teams playing in V-League was 2017 - 2022, with 2 names: Ho Chi Minh City Club and Saigon Club. In 2022, Saigon Club was relegated and dissolved, while Ho Chi Minh City team stayed in the league, maintained until now and changed its name to Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.
The Ho Chi Minh City Police Team will continue to play at Thong Nhat Stadium, where the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club is also using in the first division.
In another development, on July 14, VFF agreed to allow Ba Ria - Vung Tau team to change its name to Ho Chi Minh City team.
VFF and important decision. Agree to let Ho Chi Minh City team become Ho Chi Minh City Police team
