This change is most clearly felt by the people who are closely connected to each road and each infrastructure project in the village and commune every day. For Mr. Chu Van Tien (Lang Da village), the village road from his house to the commune center is not only a familiar route but also a means of livelihood. However, the road was previously narrow and dilapidated, making travel and transportation of goods extremely difficult. In the rainy season, it was muddy and slippery; in the dry season, it was dusty and hazy. Many times, the transportation of agricultural products was delayed, directly affecting his family's agricultural product purchasing business.
Those difficulties have disappeared since the road was upgraded and expanded. Along with that, a new bridge was built across the dividing point, connecting the entire route. The new road not only shortens geographical distances but also opens up opportunities for economic development for the local people. "Since the road was widened and improved, people can travel much more conveniently, and goods are easier to transport and sell," Mr. Tien shared.
Beyond just roads serving production, rural infrastructure in Lang Da village, as well as many other villages in Ky Thuong district, has been invested in a comprehensive manner, closely linked to community life. According to Nguyen Ngoc Ket, Party Secretary and Head of Lang Da village, infrastructure in the village has received significant investment in recent years. Village roads have been renovated and upgraded. A spacious community center has been built, serving as a meeting place and community hub. A playground and sports area have been established, providing a healthy living space for people of all ages. This has gradually improved the lives of the people and promoted socio-economic development in the village.
According to the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Communes for the period 2021-2025, Ky Thuong has so far achieved 16 out of 19 criteria and 69 out of 75 indicators, with criteria directly related to rural infrastructure being basically completed. The transportation system, public service facilities, and cultural institutions have been invested in comprehensively, contributing to changing the face of the rural area here.
Based on that foundation, the implementation of Plan No. 272 of the Provincial People's Committee is seen as a driving force for the continued upgrading of rural infrastructure in Ky Thuong commune. The commune has reviewed and compiled a list of infrastructure investments in residential areas, focusing on renovating and upgrading the existing transportation system with lighting and greenery; completing the drainage system to limit flooding, and investing in playgrounds, community activity areas, and outdoor living spaces for the people. According to the plan, Ky Thuong commune will implement 9 rural infrastructure projects with a total estimated investment of over 46 billion VND.
During the implementation of these projects, management and supervision are emphasized to ensure quality and efficiency. Relevant units regularly inspect the construction sites, promptly address difficulties, require contractors to strictly adhere to technical regulations, occupational safety, and environmental hygiene standards, and accelerate construction progress to bring the projects into service for the people as soon as possible. This gradually helps to transform the appearance of rural infrastructure.
Mr. Hoang Truong Son, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ky Thuong commune, said: In the coming time, the commune will continue to take advantage of resources and implement infrastructure projects synchronously in accordance with the spirit of Plan No. 272, prioritizing projects that directly impact people's lives and socio-economic development. Completing the infrastructure aims not only to meet immediate needs but also to achieve the long-term goal of building Ky Thuong into a harmoniously and sustainably developed rural area.
New roads and infrastructure projects are gradually taking shape in Ky Thuong, not only changing the face of the countryside but also instilling confidence and creating motivation for people to work together to build a new rural area. With infrastructure as a foundation, Ky Thuong's rural area is gradually transforming, steadily embarking on a new, sustainable, and long-term development path.
