Female employee "smuggling" more than 160 taels of gold a year

On December 16, Tra Vinh Provincial Police temporarily detained Chau Thi Thuy Kieu (31 years old, residing in Cang Long District) for theft of property. Kieu is an employee of a gold shop in Tra Vinh City.

Earlier, in early December, Mr. LHT, the owner of a gold shop in Tra Vinh City, went to the police to report the theft of a large amount of property. Immediately after that, Kieu, an employee at Mr. T's shop, turned herself in to the police.

Kieu confessed that during one year of working, taking advantage of the shop owner's negligence in inventorying assets, Kieu stole more than 160 taels of various types of gold, with a total value of over 7.7 billion VND.

Tra Vinh Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case.
