On December 16th, the Tra Vinh Provincial Police arrested and detained Chau Thi Thuy Kieu (31 years old, residing in Cang Long district) on charges of theft. Kieu is an employee of a gold shop in Tra Vinh City.

Earlier, in early December, Mr. LHT, the owner of a gold shop in Tra Vinh City, reported to the police that a large amount of property had been stolen. Shortly afterward, Kieu, an employee working at Mr. T.'s shop, turned himself in to the police.
Kieu confessed that during her year of work, taking advantage of the shop owner's negligence in inventory management, she stole over 160 taels of various types of gold, with a total value exceeding 7.7 billion VND.
The police in Tra Vinh province are continuing to investigate and handle the case.
