Gratitude touches the hearts of thousands of people

During the emotional Gratitude and Growth Ceremony of Tay Thanh High School (HCMC) on the morning of May 24, the sincere sharing from Thai Mac Tuong Vi, a student of class 12A5, touched the hearts of thousands of attendees.

With a choked voice, Tuong Vi shared her touching personal story, a normal student, facing difficult circumstances but receiving help from teachers and friends.

The female student talked about her hard-working, strong mother, a single woman who took care of her family on her own. However, she choked up when mentioning the biggest event in her life: "But then, when I entered the most important school year (grade 12) - the year facing the turning points of my life - my mother suddenly fell seriously ill. "Stroke", "blood infection" - those are too big words for a 17-year-old girl".

The female student continued: "For the first time, I stood under the heavy rain of my life, sudden and fierce. For the first time, I felt the coldness of the hospital corridor, the heaviness of the sighs and the helplessness of waiting. In just a few days, everything seemed to collapse before my eyes. My university dreams, my long-cherished plans, a bright future and laughter became dim and distant."

The pressure of studying was already great, now the burden of my mother's health is added, making my shoulders heavy.

"There were nights when I couldn't sleep because I was afraid I wouldn't have the strength to continue. Afraid that in just a second of letting go, everything would fall apart," Tuong Vi confided.

The 17-year-old girl was afraid of being pitied, afraid of people knowing her shortcomings, and thought that silence was strength.

During those days, Tuong Vi found a ray of hope, a motivation to continue when she received sharing from her homeroom teacher and teachers at school. Teachers not only taught Vi knowledge, but also taught her to stand up when life challenged her.

"It was a lucky thing - the school welcomed me with open arms. From the vice principal, homeroom teachers, subject teachers and even the entire class in the school... Everyone sent me warm care and support. It was not only material support, but also trust - a way to say: "Everyone is always with me!", female student Tuong Vi confided.

With everyone's help, the 12th grade female student realized that courage is not about not being afraid, but about daring to overcome fear to receive love, not only for herself but also for those she loves.

"Sharing doesn't make me small, it makes me stronger. Because only when we dare to speak up, will love have a chance to come," Vi confided.

To continue her dream of going to college, Vi chose to write a scholarship application letter in the hope of receiving more support for her future years of study. According to the female student, this was a brave way to express: "I don't want to be alone anymore."

I am no longer a weak student hiding behind a smile, but I dare to stand here to share my story, with the hope of spreading a little light to young people - those who are also silently enduring difficulties but do not dare to speak out.

In the sacred moment of the ceremony, Thai Mac Tuong Vi sent her deep gratitude to teachers, relatives, and friends - those who have always been by her side during the past time.

At the end of her emotional speech, the female student of class 12A5 sent a meaningful message to everyone: "I know that in the school yard today, each student has their own story. But I just want to say: If today you still have a roof to return to, still get to eat a meal cooked by your mother, still get to sit behind your father's motorbike every morning, then cherish it. Because for some people, that is a distant dream. Don't wait until it's gone to say thank you. Express your love while you still can."

Tuong Vi's sincere and emotional sharing touched the hearts of everyone present, many people could not hold back their tears.
