(Dan Tri) - An 8th grade female student in Hue city was assaulted by a group of schoolmates and forced to kneel in the school restroom, causing public outrage.

On the morning of October 5, Mr. Truong Dinh Hanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City, said that he had received a report from Nguyen Chi Dieu Secondary School regarding the incident in which a student was assaulted by a group of friends.

According to Mr. Hanh, the victim of the gang assault was a female 8th grade student at the above educational institution. After the incident, the school invited the parents of the students involved to work. Initially, the parents accepted responsibility for this unfortunate incident.

Previously, social networks circulated a clip recording a female student being surrounded by a group of friends, forced to kneel, and clasp her hands in the school restroom.

In the clip, a female student's hair is pulled and she is slapped in the face many times by a classmate, while many other students just stand and watch, no one intervenes.

The incident was posted on social media and caused outrage among the public. Many people shared, commented, and asked the school to take corrective measures.

This is not the first time unfortunate incidents have occurred at Nguyen Chi Dieu Secondary School.

According to the reporter's investigation, in November 2024, two 7th grade students of this school had a conflict and started fighting.

The two students were taken to the school's tradition room by the teacher and supervisor to resolve and reconcile. Afterwards, one student complained of a stomachache, asked permission to go to the restroom and called his parents.

Receiving her child's phone call, the student's mother went to Nguyen Chi Dieu Secondary School and slapped her child's classmate in the face, scaring him.

After the incident, the school board asked the above parent to apologize to the beaten student and his family.
