Agriculture in Nui Thanh district develops in a clean direction for sustainable development, increasing income for people.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (Diem Pho village, Tam Anh Nam commune) has invested in growing vegetables and fruits according to VietGAP standards for the past 3 years. On an area of 2,000m2 , she invested in a greenhouse to grow many kinds of vegetables and fruits.
According to Ms. Nga, the advantage of growing vegetables according to VietGAP standards is that the products ensure quality, safety, protect human health, and protect the ecological environment. Economic efficiency also increases compared to the previous traditional method. The output of the products is stable, traders are present during the harvest to buy and then transfer to the market. It is estimated that each sao of vegetables (500m2) brings in an income of more than 50 million VND/year.
Green and clean vegetable and fruit cultivation has developed quite widely in the communes of Tam Xuan 2, Tam Xuan 1, Tam Quang, Tam Giang, etc. of Nui Thanh district. Having produced vegetables according to the VietGAP model for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (Bich An village, Tam Xuan 1 commune) said that her family strictly followed the rules from land preparation, seed selection, care, watering to harvesting and preservation.
During the production process, no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used. With an area of 2 sao of Malabar spinach, lettuce, fish mint..., her family earns an average income of more than 60 million VND per year.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Quality Management (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that developing clean vegetables and fruits is an inevitable trend and direction in the province.
In Nui Thanh, there is a model of organic fruit and vegetable production that is invested in a standardized, synchronous, and scientific manner by Mr. Ung Duy Vu - Director of the "Green Farm" Agricultural Production, Trade & Service Company Limited in Tam Xuan 1 commune.
Mr. Vu is growing organic vegetables and fruits in a greenhouse on an area of 2,000m2 in team 5 and a 2ha field in team 7 (Bich Tan village, Tam Xuan 1 commune). The products are certified as organic vegetables and fruits, supplying many business locations in Nui Thanh district and Tam Ky city.
Mr. Nguyen Vinh Dieu - Vice Chairman of Tam Anh Nam Commune People's Committee said that in order to develop sustainable vegetable growing, recently, the government has coordinated with the district's functional departments to mobilize, train, and disseminate knowledge to help people produce vegetables according to VietGAP and organic standards.
Applying scientific and technical advances to the production, care, harvesting and preservation of clean vegetables. The Commune People's Committee has acted as a bridge to help people access preferential capital from policy banks to expand production. "Clean vegetables and fruits in the area are promoted and widely consumed. In the coming time, the commune will support cooperatives and businesses to link with farmers to form a chain of links, develop sustainably and increase income" - Mr. Dieu said.
