Lung Phinh is a mountainous commune with a cool climate year-round and soil suitable for many temperate crops. Previously, agricultural production was mainly small-scale and fragmented, with low economic value and unstable product outlets. Introducing a model of safe vegetable farming towards commercial production, linked to a consumption chain, is considered a new direction, suitable to the local conditions.
Since the end of 2023, the Lung Phinh Agricultural Cooperative has boldly invested in the production of safe vegetables in the commune. To date, the cooperative has invested in nearly 2 hectares of greenhouses and organizes vegetable production on a total area of about 7 hectares, with temperate vegetables such as kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, cucumbers, straw mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, etc. The entire production process is applied in a safe manner, minimizing the use of pesticides, ensuring quality and food safety.

Thanks to systematic production and stable distribution channels, the Lung Phinh Agricultural Cooperative supplies an average of over 100 tons of safe vegetables to the market each year. The products are not only sold in stores within the province but are also supplied to supermarkets and safe vegetable supply chains both within and outside the province, gradually establishing the Lung Phinh brand of clean vegetables in the market.
Mr. Do Dinh Phuoc, Director of Lung Phinh Agricultural Cooperative, shared: After nearly two years of implementing the safe vegetable farming model in the locality, the cooperative has found that the climate and soil of Lung Phinh are very suitable for temperate vegetables, and both yield and quality meet the requirements. Based on that, in 2025, the cooperative decided to expand the vegetable farming area by an additional 5 hectares, while also promoting awareness and encouraging people in the region to participate in the production chain to develop the economy.

Besides its economic benefits, the safe vegetable farming model also contributes to creating local jobs. Currently, the Lung Phinh Agricultural Cooperative is providing employment for approximately 16 workers, with an average income of about 6 million VND per person per month. This is a stable source of income, helping many households gradually improve their living standards and escape poverty.
In reality, when people join cooperatives, they not only gain more jobs but also receive guidance on safe vegetable cultivation and care techniques, access to new production methods, and a change in traditional farming mindset. Many households have begun to utilize their garden and hillside land to grow vegetables commercially, increasing income per unit area.
Currently, in Lung Phinh commune, there are two cooperatives and one enterprise investing in the production of safe vegetables, covering an area of 24.5 hectares. This is a positive sign in the local poverty reduction efforts, as the cooperatives not only play a leading role in production but also act as a bridge, helping people participate in the value chain and ensuring stable outlets for agricultural products.

Mr. Ha Duc Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lung Phinh commune, said: Along with promoting the effectiveness of economic models implemented by cooperatives, in the coming time, the commune will continue to integrate and effectively implement three national target programs to support the people in replicating effective production models. In particular, the commune identifies the production of clean vegetables in a commercial direction as an important development direction, linked to a chain from planting, caring to harvesting and consuming the product, in order to ensure stable output for the people.
It can be affirmed that the model of safe vegetable farming in Lung Phinh commune is opening up a new direction in the development of commercial agriculture, contributing to the shift in economic structure, creating jobs, and increasing income for the people. With the support of the local government, cooperatives, and the proactive efforts of the people, safe vegetable farming promises to become one of the important solutions to help Lung Phinh effectively achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the coming years.
